TOPIC: Forming Guild of Token Traders

Re: Forming Guild of Token Traders 12 years 8 months ago #37

I am interested in being part of the guild, even though I am still quite the newbie. Maybe my newbie-ish perspectve might help... even though I am not the typical newbie, since I don't think the typical newbie reads; the players guide, the underwater rules (and then bothers Druegar with a ton of questions), all the character cards, and then even the DM guide. [Hey I had an exam I needed to procrastinate studying for.]

If there are no other artistically inclined people here, I could even be roped into providing some artwork for it.

In a week I'm about to start a rotation that could be chill, or could be 16 hour days 6-7 days a week. So the next week is great for me, otherwise there is a chance I may need to wait until October to get anything done.

this is definately where i fall as well. :S

it is just the way it is.

The price list has always been ment to be a guideline not set of fixed prices. It does make it easy for folks to seperate the 100 gp rare tokens from the 400 gp rare tokens. But as I pointed out to my buyers, as my stacks shrink my prices go up.

And of course prices for new players are very flexable. (You only have 30 gp, that is price of this +2 shield and this helmet)

(Or with "rings of the deep" as GenCon progressed the price plunged)

I had someone on Saturday afternoon who was annoyed that I wouldn't buy his ring of the deep for 400 gp after he had paid $20.00 for it on e-bay.

that is where I say.."after today it wont be as useful...it may come back but probably not any time soon"..usually i got some mad people at me for saying that

Well, it will presumably be useful in the Sea Lich Redoubt-style dungeon next year.

Should we work on creating a guild charter to formalize what our intentions are? The basic rules George laid out are a good foundation and we've already made some statements most agreed with but a charter would help further define that.

I'm in.

My son had fun trading this year, so I imagine he'd like to do it again next year (and yes, I would like to take back less tokens than I bring).

Just as a quick note, having the tables near the coaching areas is a good thing, as it is readily available to people who are getting ready for their adventure. Rectangular would be an improvement.

George, I'd like to be a part of the guild, and I think Jen (my wife) is interested also. I thinks the idea is not only a great one - but will serve more than one very useful purpose!

Cheers!

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

I'm interested in forming a guild but would like to know a little more about what you propose.

I think an interest, and agreement with what George proposed at the beginning of the topic.
