TOPIC: +2 Staff of Power

The question would be is the spell a free action or could you take a free action from the bracers to cast a spell then use your other action to use the staff.

I think shield missle missle would be pretty cool.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

well that should definately be possible, but I'm curious about the specific combination mentioned. The staff says it can cast ANY first level spell, so I /should/ be able to use it for the Instant Shield, taking no action time. Then use my Bracelets to double cast other spells at the same time. Kudos BTW, I never would have thought of that.

I wonder about the fact that the Staff casts it as a scroll, so maybe it would still take a turn to cast instant shield with the Staff since scrolls aren't instantaneous. Or maybe it takes a turn to activate the Staff to be able to cast the spell, so you'd still be taking your turn's action to activate the staff? Plus, don't you only get two "free actions" per turn? So maybe the instantaneous spell and the second zephyr spell would both count as free actions? Pretty complicated, I'd be really interested to see what Dave has to say on it. My Wizard has a +2 Staff of Power also, but I don't think she will be using it this year because she's using the Orb and/or scepter of might.
