The main problem I see with that, Jeff, is that the big token buyers won't have ANY commons at all, hurting their set completion for gold and PLAT sets, and combo token ingredients.

Plus - would you want to offer something like this to people that buy less than $8K (maybe $2K or more)? Limiting it to $8K buyers seems to cut out a lot of the token savings you could generate from this.

I know that Toby and I will not have the bandwidth to do a $8k order, but I do like the idea of the smaller token bags. I hope some version of this would also be available to other tier buyers.

I'm on a fixed income (Salaried) so #1 gets doubled. That, and the fact that I just signed a promise not to my wife stating my maximum spending prior to next years con (Though I did leave a few loop holes in the language of the promise).

I like the idea of being able to buy a smaller bag with less commons or no commons in them, as I have a massive box of commons that I don’t really use, and I lugged to GenCon only to have it sit in my room. Since I am not a super collector but I do enjoy collecting the uncommons, rares and UR's and would not mind getting Minotaur hide parts and such I think selling smaller packs like those would be a good idea. Maybe for like $7 or something per pack.

The 8K deal got you 20 oynx URs (complete set) and 16 gold backed PYP (URs) for a bonus of 4 URs over say, 8 1K orders.

The sentiment of the last year's big buyers seems to be going against this idea. A couple of issues we haven't addressed are:

• platinum backed tokens
 •
• GTs/URs in the 160 full packs
 •

I have a couple of ideas that might sway someone:
For an 8K order, you get:

• 800 rares (80 of which are platinum backed)
 •
• 1600 uncommons (160 of which are platinum backed)
 •
• 13,300 GP (round up to nearest 100 which gives buyer a bonus 19GP)
 •
• The following numbers are based on the last 3 years tokens and are subject to revision based on the mix in the 2010 set and a possible new trade item
53 Dwarven Steel
23 Minotaur Hide
25 Alchemist's Parchment
43 Darkwood Plank
• 56 5pt heals
 •
• 8 random URs (some of which could be a GT)
 •
• 1 complete set of common platimum backed tokens (40 total)
 •
• 160 regular 10 token bags plus 1 random UR (which may be a GT)
 •

This has a couple of advantages: first you get a platinum common set guaranteed. Second you get at least 10 random URs/GTs guaranteed with a chance for an eleventh. Last year it was 9 with a chance for a tenth. You still get an average of 28 of each common token which is IMO still a lot (no change from earlier proposal),

I believe the basics of either mine or Darrose50's proposal could easily be applied to smaller orders. And it seems that there is interest from those buyers. You could adopt the same 100/20 philosphy. For 1K you get 100 light bags and 20 reguar "bonus" 10 packs. For 500 you get 50/10, for 250 25/5. and for 95 you get 10/2. The numbers associated with the 4x series wouldn't be guaranteed (to any one buyer, but overall they would add up correctly) unless you spent at least 1k (e.g., if you spent 250, on average you would get 4.5 trade items, but you might get 6, 7, 3, etc., because it is a partial set. If you get more than the average trade items the next person would (most likely) get less, (but they might get more money or more healing)).

I could even see this working at GENCON. Give the players an option of a light ("special") bag, or a regular bag. I know for sure in my case, I would opt for light every time as I didn't open a single one of my bags until after the run(s). I would however open a light bag (for the healing). This would also apply to all of my teammates (on those runs where I supply all of the tokens).
Isn't that a low amount of gold for an 8,000 dollar order?

Kim

That is only the common portion of GP. You still get a random amount of uncommon and rare gold.
