I know it may be a logistical nightmare, but what about offering preferred scheduling to higher level players.


Since they are at the whims of the illustrious GenCon Ticket System, I doubt that will be feasible.

Not to mention that it impedes advancement for lower level players, creating a nasty loop of the 'rich getting richer', as it were. I know there aren't enough 3rd level players to fill all the slots at a con, but if they buy multiple tickets... well, you see where I'm going.

heck... *checks the stats** there are barely enough 3rd level players to buy two hours worth of slots, let alone a whole weekend.

of course, i agree that they shouldn't be given preferential treatment...

i'm just sayin'...

Agreed, which is why I also included the idea that you reserve a set number of open slots for new players. Granted it isn't perfect, it was just food for thought.

See, that's a "good" thing, as it was pointed out that you don't want sell all the spots to vets... as it would then exclude new players.

It was just the beginning of an idea tossed up for discussion. So much had been discussed on threads about XP rewards for 'player' vs 'characters', I initially thought this might be a simple way to reward returning "players" who have supported TD through attendence. I thought of the XP as something along the lines of frequent flyer miles I get for work travel - more miles (xp) earned equals perks of discounted tickets and preferred choices.

Carry on. Something good may spring from it yet.
