First time I've ever seen GG was at gencon last year. He seemed a bit unsteady and unsure at times, but he did his KB part without any problems. Oh well. I'll bet he was worth a ton of XP and the world's the poorer for it.

The worlds (both reality and fantasy) are a little less interesting.<br /><br />Safe journey and may the mistress of the Western Woods show you the safest path.

Holy crap.  I got into a flame war with him at one point a few years ago, but that was one of the great things about him - he was always very accessible on various boards.

Your words probably killed him. No doubt he was reading back through the forums and stumbled across your flames and that did him in.

We all have our faults and strengths, and Mr. Gygax was no exception.  From the fun I had with him when he did our True Dungeon narration in 2004 & 2005, I can only speak very well of him.  He went out of his way to make his contribution to True Dungeon for just the sake of providing some fun for us gamers.  He did not want any mention that it was actually him doing the voice work.  He was very patient with us!<br /><br />My life would have been VASTLY different and much less fun without his great work in the 70s, and I hope only to carry on his great example of doing something for others.

Well stated, Jeff.  It is always a surprise when someone who has affected a segment of society so much leaves this realm of existance.  I wish him well on his journey and the greatest adventure.<br /><br /><br />Widseth

Jeff - do you still have copies of the voice work he did?  That would definitely be something worth keeping - a treasure beyond monetary value.
