TOPIC: Looking For Leather Worker

Looking For Leather Worker 16 years 3 months ago #1

Hey all long time no post I know! I am in search of the Leather worker that worked the Door last year on several of my shifts. I know he posts on here and hope that he reads this so I can send him money and get things made!!

As a helpful reminder of whom he is and I am, I Was dressed as the wizard. I was a playercoach runner. My Girlfriend worked the bag check. Hope that was enough... :) I am horrible with names or I would just ask for him directly any help on this would be great!!

Thanks again!!

P.S.

How is my favorite Pixie doing?

*Fly paper in place*

Well since the person who I was looking for hasn't responded does anyone know a leather worker or have a reputable business to go through?

What sort of leather work were you looking to have done? As that might influence what sort of refs you'd get.

Yep, type of work you want would definitely help. I do some leather work, but would need more info before commiting to make something.

Let me first start by sayng my computer had a heart attack and I just got back from it.

The leather working I am wanting done is a pair of boots. Soft leather preferred. I use to have a pair but they got too small after awhile. I seen a guy at the Con that was crafting them but he wanted a grand plus for a pair and they were not that nice. IMHO Oh well I am searching online for a pair but would much rather give one of you my money over some stranger.

Thanks again sorry for the long delay!!
Boots are beyond my expertise. I recommend Catskill or Bald Mountain , but both are VERY pricey. I have Catskills and LOVE them.

I got mine from Bald Mountain. For the price, I would have liked to have gotten a bit more...
They're not anywhere near as comfortable as I think they should be for what I paid.

Mine and Kevin's are very comfortable. There were a few problems with mine when I first got them, but they took them back and reworked them at no charge.

Son of Sandallar (don;t know if they have a website or not) is good, as well as RenBoots.com. The dealer at con, Bald Mountain, are cobblers that custom fit/hand make to each individual. Great work, but you pay for it. Anyone doing the hand made thing like that, especially as their living, will be charging accordingly. Also...boots are a pain to make right.

The two I mentioned are more 'production' based. Shoe sizes like your tennies. I have a pair of Sandallar and they're awesome.

And remember...there's always Minnetonka Moccasins. Put a pair of insoles in 'em and they work great. Also good for those on a budget.

Ditto. Ended up paying over $200 this time around to recover. That's added on to the $170 I dropped to upgrade ram and crap just a few weeks ago. At this point, I've put in more money than the 4-5 year old computer is worth.

Minnetonkas RULE! but yes, insoles are a must! I suggest you get them bigger than you need or take along some insoles when you get your size figured out.

$200 is warrant enough to not bother upgrading the old comp and just buy a new one if it is 4 - 5 years old.

The budget comps at $499 is comparable and you get new features etc. Now if only you have the option to drop Vista from it...
