TOPIC: DnD 4th Edition!!!!!!!

What?!  I just bought a new set of the 3.5 books!  Sometimes I really hate Wizards.  milk milk milk milk milk

I just did some further research and I am completely disgusted with them.  On the forums for 4th edition they talk about D&D Insider.  It is the online content and programs for 4th edition that is free right now, but will eventually cost "more than a magazine subscription but less than a MMO."  <br /><br />Crap like this is exactly why I won't play online games.  I am one of those people that doesn't think it's fair to have to buy a game and pay monthly to play it.  Now, the D&D Insider stuffs is not required, but all the stuff that we get for free on the wizards site right now, will be put on Insider.  So if you don't get the subscription, you're left out of most of the web content.  Also, I'm not sure if I read it right or not, but they said the errata will be put on Insider.  So I'm thinking that if you don't get the subscription, you don't even get the errata.<br /><br />The pretty pathetic thing is that they are trying to appease people by saying if you buy the books and have the insider subscription, you get a special code to get the e-version of the book.  I think I'll just wait until people upload them to bittorrent and get the pdf's anyway.  Stupid Hasbro!

The cards were pretty crappy. If you're going to pay to advertise like that, you'd think that you would spend the extra amount to get a flashy and colorful logo made. Dark blue and gray is hardly something that's going to get people's attention with no real eyepopping image to boot.

I thought the same way Raven, I guess either were wrong, or it was supposted to be adverting for both.

<br /><br />there is only one problem with that henry. jeremy thrives on that. you need to say everyone loves him. that would get him in a tizzy. 

This is why I still run and play a 1st ed. AD&D world/campaign.  It has been going for over 30 years and we can still get the books and references off e-bay and from 1/2 price books cheeper than their original publication price from the 70's.  If anyone is interested we play every friday night just souty of Indianapolis.

I'm pretty sure I'll never buy another D&D book - unless it is from days long past...<br /><br />I just liked the THAC0 system better than what it went to.<br /><br />Also the module writing was so much better.<br /><br />Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, the against the Giants series, the Slavers series...etc.

<br /><br />Well, there is always next year at GenCon... or sooner if you ever find yourself down this way.  Perhaps we could plan to run a single night game/adventure for TD folks before GenCon kicks off next time.  Any takers?
