TOPIC: Let's talk Black Widow - Spoilers

Let's talk Black Widow - Spoilers 2 years 9 months ago #1

So, what did everyone think? It wasn't my favorite Marvel movie, but I thought it was well done. I liked all of Natasha's family, and hope to see them again.

For those that saw it, did you see it in the Theaters or Disney+? It was my first movie in the Theaters since COVID started.

I enjoyed but don't have much to say about. I watched it at home, but that is all I can say about that.

Went to the theater, but it wasn't the first time.

Liked the movie a fair bit.

Lots of Dark humor, which could make some uncomfortable.

I liked the way it sort of poked fun at itself.

It was my first time back in the theater as well.

I thought it was ok. I feel like the Disney pre-qual movies don't focus on the right things (they went hard on that vest). Same with Solo in that he was already Han Solo and was just getting his stuff. I feel like they could have spent more time on Alexi being in prison and drawing comparisons to Isaiah Bradley and other disposable soldiers. The "You can't hurt be because of pheromones" feels like lazy writing. Also, how did SHIELD not know about a Russian sky base. Overall, I was expecting more spy shenanigans like we saw in Winter Soldier.

Yelena was the highlight of the movie. Especially, her talking about how she didn't understand they were undercover and weren't really her family because she was only 3-6 while they were in Ohio.

I enjoyed it. Not sure I have a lot to say, but was mostly just glad to finally be seeing a Marvel movie again.

It was my second time back in a theater, but so far I'm not up to joining opening weekend crowds and have just been doing Monday matinee showings. There were 8 people in a large ultrascreen theater. I think the closest people were two rows back and fifteen seats to the left of me.

IMO It was solidly lower mid tier for a MCU movie. Great action, don't think to deeply, you'll have fun.

I'm a little confused with what they were trying to accomplish with it though. I don't know maybe I was expecting more of a mission impossible or Jason Born style spy thing. Overall it felt a little disconnected from the rest of the MCU in that there were no other avengers or pre-existing hero's in it. I honestly don't know, I feel like they could have done more for the character, but just watch it to complete the set and decide for yourself.
