TOPIC: D&D Open at GHC?

D&D Open at GHC? 5 years 7 months ago #1

Anyone planning on playing the Saturday D&D Open at GHC? If so, thought it could be fun to get a table of TD folks together...

This: www.gameholecon.com/attend/alinfo

And I believe it's a version of this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%26D_Championship_Series

Though, disclaimer, I have never participated in this before.

Have to see what day, i've barely glanced at a players handbook in years and sitting down for 8 hours at con is unheard of to me unless i'm on shift for TD. Am interested more than i likely should be as i look at my other events scheduled...
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Wow thats pretty intense! I could see a lot of fun in something like that. The criteria for scoring is what fascinates me. I am assuming it must be objective based and multiple other variables that can go into a certain scenario. Sadly I'm super packed with TD and other D&D stuff already.

Having played it here is some general info, it is using pregens that each are unique and have their benefits and drawbacks.

Scoring system is kinda tough and it is really limited on time because you have to get through each part in like 45 minutes or so, which the module can be heavy on roleplay which eats you time which I found frustrating.

Overall I found it a fun event but with the rewards being based on how well you did and you can only apply them to other characters I don't know of how much worth wild it would be to play it again.
