TOPIC: Made My Indy Reservations

I'm officially booked for Gen Con Indy. I am staying at the Courtyard by Marriot Downtown. $139 a night and free parking..didn't sound too bad. No hamster tubes, but its just across the street from the Convention Center.

How did everyone else fair?

Marilee and I got the Hyatt, like we have for the past couple years. It was the first time I could book ahead of time, and it was very easy.

i'll be staying in the marriot connected to the convention center. i stayed there last year, but was hoping to move to the westin this year. but alas, i was but one of five votes. i'm hoping to get there early (sometimes work has other ideas) to help with set up. i'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.

I need to find a parking solution that dosen't end up costing 18 bucks a day. It's ridiculous how they all start gouging during convention time.

<br /><br />If you are going to park your car and leave it for the entire con, there are some garages about two blocks away that charge a lower rate per day (say about $10).<br /><br />

Our group snagged our usual suite at the Hilton.  It's not connected, but the room is HUGE and not that expensive.  (As long as they keep the lockers in the convention center, I'll only ever go back to the room to sleep anyway.)

I've been doing some footwork looking for the "best" deal for my GenCon trip and thought I might share some of my findings.<br /><br />First, for flights I used www.kayak.com and found a flight from LAX to IND for $217.<br /><br />For Hotels, I'm staying at Days Inn.    Called them directly and rooms are $92/night with AAA discount and only 1/2 mile from the RCA Dome.  I wanted something decent, affordable and within walking distance of the RCA Dome.  This seemed to fit the bill.<br /><br />-Douglas<br />

Sis and I got our flights out of LAX and if it helps anyone to gague what to pay and what not to pay - we did get the $217 fare and a non-stop flight to boot!<br /><br />The big thing to remember is what days you are flying on - some may not get the $217 fare if they are flying on worse days etc.<br /><br />But I would say $217 is pretty darn good and I think the savings over flying out of Orange County for me are well worth it.  Well that and being able to fly with my sis!!!  You see she is the only one in the family that can fly...so for me to join her it had better be in a flying machine...hehehehe

I'm staying at the Hilton Indianapolis  =D It was pretty good last year, and I didn't mind the walk. Just need to pack an umbrella in case of rain.
