TOPIC: TEXAS LONGHORNS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!

TEXAS LONGHORNS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!! 18 years 3 months ago #13

Actually Heidi...oh BTW Big Congrats!!!....
If Vince washes out his first NFL year, he'll still have plenty of money to return to college and complete any degree he wishes, as well as coach as an assistant in completion of a Masters in Phys. Training.
If he returns to college this year, and gets hurt...he will lose out on significant money, as he would be guaranteed at least a 50 Mill contract as one of the top picks in the draft. Even if he doesn't get hurt, his competition would be much tighter next year as Lydell White, Brady Quinn, and many other prospects will be moving in on his prospect draft pick. How can you beat over 400 yards total offense and a game winning touchdown with 19 seconds left???!!!
Hate to say it, but I think Mack will be kissing Vince very soon...(please see post-game interview to explain this ananlysis :) ).
Good Luck though.

Just wanted to clarify that I'm not saying I think Vince should stay, just hoping that he will stay. And I was playing devil's advocate with a few of my comments.

People here in town are saying we should all chip in towards putting "Please stay, Vince" on a bunch of bilboards.

I would be hoping he gets picked and kept by Houston...there is talk around my office that Houston would do well to draft him and trade him for players they could put out in the field right away...

I think that before he agreed to go to Houston he would want a guarantee of staying there at least a year. Otherwise he's better of dealing with a team that will keep him. If I was Houston, I'd be trading that first draft for several lower drafts and some players. But I'm certainly no expert.

DD, that means that Vince has decided to pass up his last year at University of Texas, to enter the NFL draft. As long as he doesn't hire an agent, or discuss compensation with a rep...he could still return, if his draft options aren't what he'd like. Most likely though, he'll have an agent by Feb, and be drafted 2nd overall after some lower teams trade up to New Orleans for their pick.
