TOPIC: Pixies and Hobbits. . .

Hey Y'all,

Earlier this year I had heard in the rumor mill after the director who did LOTR finished King Kong, he was going to do The Hobbit.
Now that KK is out, I heard his next project was Halo.
Has anyone heard anything about making The Hobbit?

That has been a persistant rumor since the LotR films were first announced, and I believe Peter Jackson has gone so far as to say he might be interested, but it isn't anything more than a rumor at this point. No plans have been announced.

The problem with the Hobbit is that one film compnay owns the actual rights to the film, and one owes the rights to distribute it. They have been fighting about the Hobbit since Fellowship did so well. Talks have broken off between the two, so it might take a change in leadership to move things ahead. Luckily, that happens fairly frequently in Hollywood. :smt084

Keep your fingers crossed as Ian McKellan ain't getting any younger...and he HAS to play Gandalf again.

Peter Jackson said he would love to do the Hobbit, so let's hope he gets a chance.

Peter Jackson is just the ex. producer of Halo, he's not accually directing it, sadly.
