Thanks for the encouraging words, Jack!

Today is a strength training day, but maybe I will try to get a couple miles in as well.
Wow Brian ... that's awesome that you're training! ... I wish I could get myself the discipline ... and don't listen to WJ - he doesn't really get bad days at the gym ;) ... or at least not when I was watching him ...
I *do* have bad days... those, and boredom, are two of the biggest issues I think most people face when training for something. At least Brian is switchin' it up with cross-training, that will help a lot with fighting boredom. :-)
Legally... its questionable. Morally... its disgusting. Personally... I *like* it.

Thanks for the support and good wishes. Forgot to post last night - more strength training and ab work. Also did some stretching. If I concentrate and really relax, I can actually bend over and touch my toes!

Tonight will be another run, maybe a hill workout, but I might get delayed by having to replace a flat tire on Jen's car.
I admit that boredom is probably one of my biggest issues when I'm running ... I try to listen to music ... but I've not downloaded anything new to my ipod in ages (partly coz I still need to buy a new computer) ... so all the songs are boring to run to ... although it should be better soon enough, the hotel I'm staying at next week has those little TV screens on the treadmill - one of my best runs was during a Lethal Weapon movie (the ending fight sequence) ...

WJ - I dunno ... I think you push yourself too hard ... that or I'm not pushing myself enough ever ... ;) of course, you are talking to the person who's not worked out in a month ... but I intend to start next week ... I'll be cooped up in a hotel for a month so there'll be nothing else to do ... and it has one of those really cool pull-up machines ... so I'll probably play with that a bit ...

I totally needed tonight's run! Bad day at school, lots of errands after, including getting a flat tire replaced. But the 4 mile run, including a hill workout, made the evening better. Yay!
Helene,
Why are you going to be in a hotel for a month?

Kim

Okay - missed the chance to update yesterday. I ran 6.5 miles for the first time, and it well pretty well, mostly. Didn't run a negative split, but that's okay. Today was the first Team in Training practice - very easy, just ran 5 min/walked 1 min for 25 minutes. Also did some strength training and ab work.

I already won a magnetic bumper sticker for my fundraising - with your help, I can win a Team in Training t-shirt!

pages.teamintraining.org/los/LA10/BrianSymington

Thanks!

ps - At official Weight Watchers weigh-in this weekend, I am now officially no longer overweight (according to BMI index). Hoody hoo!
Okay, so yesterday I did some strength training and ab work. Today looks to be another run, maybe a hill workout - have to get a workout in before going to go see The Men Who Stare at Goats.

I am going to hopefully entice more people to donate to my Team in Training website. How about this - each year I get the 30 bag deal for $250 so I can get the PYP. This year looks like the Staff of Power would be a nice addition to my wizard. Here's the incentive - IF I get a 00 bag with a purp in it, no matter what the purp is, I will randomly draw a name from those who donated to my site and reward them with the random purp.

So far we have one person in the running - who else wants in?

pages.teamintraining.org/los/LA10/BrianSymington

Good hill workout yesterday - ran a little over 4 miles, including 5 strong hill runs. Tmr might try 7 miles for my LSD.
