I agree, it seemed like a nice way to reward folks who saved those bits. Now it seems to cost as much as other transmutes plus the monster bits.

The changes to the.Earcurff are unnecessarily complicated and expensive, and extremely frustrating for someone like me who has been saving and planning around the token. TBH my first reaction when I saw the change was visceral anger. 😡

Thanks for listening and asking for our feedback!

IMO The latest version of the Earcuff of Greater Glory recipe adds $70-75 in trade goods and Monster Trophies (needed to make the Incense transmutes) to the cost of making the token. The required 26 Monster Trophies will range in price from $5 to $7 (for a total of $130 to $182). Thus, the total cost of transmuting the EGG ranges from $200 to $257. Plus time and effort and two Uncommon and two Common tokens.

Adding transmuted tokens as requirements for the EGG increases the time and effort to the task of collecting and mailing/transmuting the ingredients for the EGG. The same thing would be accomplished by just adding the trade goods for the Incense transmutes to the recipe. However, that destroys the purpose of having a second sink for just Monster Trophies which is the EGG in this case.

I am not in favor of adding the Incense tokens to the EGG recipe. The number of monster trophies in the treasure mix seems to be declining since the EGG ingredient collecting began. I know there were way more MB's in the 2023 than in 2024 or 2025 treasure mix. Has anyone else seen the decrease in the treasure mix?

I believe the EGG transmute was proposed to have a multi-year transmute for Monster Trophies. Monster Trophies from 2020, 2021 and 2022 were generally used to create Golden Fleece. (Some were used to make Enhanced and Exalted tokens from the respective years). We did not have a second option to transmute Monster Trophies for 2020, 2021, and 2022 outside of the 3-star and 4-star transmutes.

The last multi-year Monster Trophy transmute we had was Bead of the Lucky Traveler. The recipe included a rare token (Bead Firehold) and 18 Monster Trophies from 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. That was it.

It seems that the Monster Trophies would be enough for transmuting the EGG. If the TPTB want to add something more, then simplify the recipe by adding a Rare or Ultra Rare Token--not the Incense transmutes.

Alternative to Incense for the Earcuff of Greater Glory.

1x+1 Hunter Crossbow
1 of either +1 Vampiric Hammer or +1 Vampiric Short Sword
1xBaton of Focus

This seems a far fairer cost and keeps the whole Melee/Range/Caster theme the Incense Transmutes provide. It also makes it a lot easier for those who are Nightmare-level players (most likely the majority of players that have done the 2023-2026 Monster Trophy collection) to collect as Common items are uncommon in our draws and iffy in the token buys. Also, it would feel less like a punishment for working so long to collect the Trophies.

In summary, unless you plan on making the Incenses as common as Rare Weapons and Armor in Nightmare draws, I say 'no' on this recipe.

One factor to consider is that the EGG seems a lot more powerful than the Bead of the Lucky Traveler. It is likely to be a best in slot token for some time to come. That might justify a more expensive recipe.

Traditionally the 4 year monster but transmute has included the bits and a rare or 2.

If more is needed, that's fine, but I agree on it not being something we have to transmute twice.

Also, they've typically pushed the limits of power. I don't think that's a reason to make them more expensive.

Please take the incenses out of the Earcuff recipe.
First I hate having the extra step of needing to make 4 items just to make the Earcuff

Second there has not been significant other items required for 4 year monster trophy transmutes in the past. Bead of lucky traveler just required a rare bead. Dracolich charm needed a runestone.
Icecrags looks to have just needed a Earcuff.
I am kind of ok with an added cost of 1 of each trade good to the recipe but please no more than that.

I think the monster trophy transmutes are meant to reward the long term player.

I'd rather we stick to the established precedent.

What multi-year monster bit token was not a BiS token when it came out? Maybe the original necklace, everything else was a BiS token.
