TOPIC: TD Pregnant?

TD Pregnant? 10 months 4 weeks ago #1

Hello!

As a person who’s been to GenCon multiple times, this will be my first TD experience! I tried really hard to get 2+ tickets last year but could only find one and didn’t wanna go alone lol.

This year, I was able to get enough for me and all my friends but I’ll be about 31ish weeks pregnant at the time. I’m normally pretty active, but thinking I might have some bladder issues or need to use a wheelchair during some of the convention to avoid back fatigue. Does anyone know if these things are allowed during TD? It would really stink to have to leave mid dungeon to go pee lol… hoping the baby isn’t too rude to my bladder.

Thanks in advance!

My understanding from the past is you are allowed to leave the dungeon at any time bathroom etc. However, you cannot rejoin the dungeon once you have left. I do not know if this has changed or if there are any exceptions.

Wheelchairs are absolutely fine. We have many players who use wheelchairs.
If you need to leave the dungeon for any reason, you may do so. But due to many logistical and safety issues, you won't be able to rejoin your party until after they emerge from the epilogue room.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Not an official answer, but TD is inclusive. If you need a wheel chair for medical reason, they would almost certainly be able to accommodate you.

The in-dungeon portion is only 72 of your 120 minute experience, so you might be able to make it through without a bathroom trip.

Wheel chairs are no problem as Druegar mentioned.

Just a minor clarification on leaving. The first 24 minutes is in the coaching area, followed by 12 minutes in the training room. Leaving during that time is fine, so long as you are back by the start of room 1. Most of the coaches will mention bathroom breaks during the coaching time. Congratulations! Enjoy your run.

As others have said, mobility devices are totally fine. If you need a wheelchair, use it. TD will accommodate you.

As for the bathroom, perhaps it will help to describe the time line. If your run is at, say, 10:00 am:

9:30 am - earliest time you can be in the coaching room (you don’t have to get there this early, but you could; you’d want to check in no later than 9:45 to be in coaching at 10:00)

10:00 am - 24 minute coaching period begins (bathroom breaks acceptable, coach might even remind players that now is the time for a pit stop)

10:24 - move to training room, 12 minutes in training (not ideal to step out during this but you probably could if you really had to; better to go during coaching)

10:36 - seven room adventure begins, leaving dungeon during this time means you can’t come back

12:00 - party exits the dungeon and goes to epilogue for XP cards, survivor buttons, participation token and treasure; a player who needs to use the restroom could ask the party if they can go first so they can be done ASAP.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Looks like I have a plan to go just before going in the main room. Maybe I’ll cut down my water a few hours before to try to accommodate baby pushing on bladder lol.

The only exception I know of is the Wil Wheaton exception. ;)
