This email contains important information for VTD7, Ebony Sail. As a ticket holder, please save yourself some time before the event and read through this and follow all instructions now!

NEW PLAYING REQUIREMENT
First up, the TD Team is doing a happy dance, as the Dice Roller feature is READY! Yay!!! That does mean a few changes in playing requirements for you, BC. You MUST have your character set up in either the website (tdcharactercreator.com) or in the app (search "Character Gen for True Dungeon" in the App Store or Google Play). Previously this was suggested, but it is now a REQUIREMENT to play, so please get your character(s) set up in the website or the app NOW.

PLUNDER RULES!
Is this a strange statement from me or something meaningful? It's definitely the latter! Plunder! is a mini-game inside the VTD-7 Ebony Sail adventure. We thought you'd like to check it out before you play your run. The rules aren't complicated, but since time is so precious in TD, knowing HOW to play in advance will be helpful. The second page of the PDF contains a larger version of the map. Feel free to print it out if you'd like to play a non-virtual version of it!

ROGUE SKILL TESTS
The decision has been made to eliminate the Rogue skill tests for VIRTUAL adventures in 2022. Many people have trouble getting it printed out and because you Rogues are a clever sort, you always pass! In order to simplify things and acknowledge that our Rogues are the most skillful Rogues in existence, the requirement to be tested is no more.

On behalf of the TD Team, I would like to thank you, <your name> for your ticket purchase(s) for the upcoming weekend. Y'all know I'm not on the "game" side of things much, but I have to tell you...the sets and plans I've seen for this adventure series are really impressive. You'd think after all these years I wouldn't hear discussion of ideas and be dubious about the ability to make the plans reality...and yet, I often still have that "there's no way" thought trickle through my head. Once again, they've proved my doubts wrong and made impressive sets and effects for your adventuring enjoyment.

No sense griping. it's a combination of strategy and luck. You can have the best strategy, but seems better to have luck on your side. I have some thoughts, but think those should be saved for the run.

It is pitting the DM vs the Players....potentially for as much as 10 minutes. It is a game of luck because there is a clearer strategy for the DM to push the player into bad odds. Unless I am missing something obvious, or the DM has additional rules.

I can see Plunder being fun. If nothing else it's a cool experiment, which I like seeing in VTD. It'd be especially cool if there was a way earlier in the dungeon to pick up some loaded dice or something that'd give a boost to a die roll during the game.

Feels way too heavily weighted on randomness to me. Maybe there are some additional aspects that the rules don't cover though.

I think it would be more enjoyable if there was a rule that allowed the players ship to wreck the pirate ship. Essentially a rule so that which ship entered the other ship space would wreck the other ship.

Does the character app have a d6 roll button? This could allow both sides to see all the dice rolls.

Lost in the discussion concerning Plunder is the change in regards to the Rogue skill test. I don't play a Rogue, but seems like a positive move that helps simplify and speed things up. In person, the test still makes sense, but the decision regarding virtual runs seems like a good one.
