TOPIC: 2022 Common Token Images

2022 Common Token Images 2 years 11 months ago #13

I'm all for lots of common weapons.

Club of the Quartermaster v Ravager Cudgel

Both blunt, probably non-metal. RC, for ravager theme reasons I guess, excludes wizards even though it's just a club and has higher average damage, .5 more, with an odd damage wheel.

Corsair Cutlass v Ravager Axe v Ravager Sword v Scoundrel Sword

Class differences - none. Absolutely none. Good thing they all have exactly the same average damage. What the ...?

Where is the rogue sword? Why is bard on the axe? If have this many slots for essentially identical weapons, maybe a two-handed melee weapon even though a barbarian should be able to easily get the uncommon option.

Scoundrel Sword should be a short sword template, usable by rogue. Ravager Axe should lose bard.

Three torso armor that are all but monks and wizards, no armor that is only cleric/fighters/paladin. Not that paladin seems terribly in theme for watery adventures (totally irrelevant to everyone but I think the last D&D, maybe the only D&D, paladin I played was in an archipelago setting).

It will be funny if Cape of the Sea Goblin ends up being the only DEX giving back slot in the game.

The shadow is drunk. I like it

I was thinking Scoundrel Sword should be a Rogue weapon as well. Drop the damage just a bit and it’s a perfect fit for new rogue players

Renewing my humble request for a Harpoon as a common weapon. It would be a great replacement for one of the 3 swords.

I, too, recall someone doing it. Wasn't me tho.

Thanks all! I changed the Pirate Jerkin armor to +3 and further restricted the classes. I left the weapons as is. I don't think a Rogue has to have a bladed weapon every year as a Common. I imagine a lot of Rogues use clubs to get "volunteers" to join their ship.

Blunder Bullet seems out of place for a blunder weapon. Maybe Blunder Nails/Grape/Shot/etc.
