If I did want to do this, would I need a GC Online badge in addition to my GC in-person badge?

yes you need a free gen con online badge.
"A free Gen Con Online badge is required. Badge registration is open now."

It does not say that an in-person badge would not be sufficient.

Correct because it says an Online Badge is required. Think of them as two different cons. Gen Con Indy and Gen Con Online. They have the same date, but have different registrations and differnet events.

And if one had an in-person badge it is perfectly reasonable to ask if a separate online badge would also be needed. The announcement does not say that.

Debatable. If you looked at Gen Con’s you would see how they are different Cons. The fact still remains that it says what the requirement is. Asking about a different badge at least to me is silly. Origins badge is also not allowed, because the Gen Con Online badge is required.

Origins has nothing to do with GenCon.

Someone got up on the wrong side of the forum this morning.

Only after reading your post after I provided a nice helpful answer to your original question and you decided to be snarky.

You came off as snarky right from the start, not nice and helpful.

Hmmm
yes you need a free gen con online badge.

I answered your question and quoted the appropriate line. If you think that there is snark in there and not helpful, then I will happily answer no more questions from you. Have a good day.

It wasn’t your place to answer it, and by including the quote you implied I didn’t read or understand the original post.

Thanks. Have a good day, too!

A few questions:

Is it no XP for people who have done any vTD? No XP only if you have done every vTD?

Normal treasure or no treasure? Is there a completion token (rare and uncommon)? A survivor pin?
I play Wizard.

Unlike standard VTD adventures, Mini-Quest participants do not receive treasure pulls, player 10-packs, participation tokens, or survivor buttons after their adventure. However, all Mini-Quest players receive an XP code worth 500 XP. Players who have already played at least one VTD adventure cannot earn XP from playing the Mini-Quest "Bogwood Befouled".

I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Anthony,

This event is intended to give people who have never played a VIRTUAL True Dungeon an opportunity to give it a try. So, to answer your questions:

1. There is NO XP for anyone who has done at least ONE VTD adventure (You could have done one or all, it doesn't matter). Anyone who has NEVER done a VIRTUAL TD will get 500 XP.

2. NO treasure. There are NO participation tokens (rare, uncommon, or otherwise). There are no survivor pins. There are no player packs. Basically we will no be mailing anything out to the players of the Mini-Quest at all.

XP codes will be emailed to anyone who opts to provide their email for an XP code to be sent to. The XP system will only award the 500 XP to anyone who has not already entered XP for a VTD event.

Again, this event is designed to give people who may have played in-person TD a chance to try VTD and see how they like it. Similarly, it is also designed to provide an opportunity for people who have never played TD a chance to try VTD. This is NOT for veteran Virtual True Dungeon players.

If you have any additional questions about MiniQuest that aren't answered here or on our website, please feel free to email me directly. lori at true dungeon dot com

Have a great day!
