They're allowing up to 17,500 people in Lucas Oil Stadium tomorrow.

That's for the sportsball though. I'm not sure that there is the same pressure from outside sources to host a gaming convention.

They make a lot of money from gaming conventions. I am sure there is a great deal of pressure.

I don't know what their numbers will be this years, but in 2019 the NCAA men's tourney made over $933 million for just the NCAA. There's money made from Gencon, but not a Billion dollars worth.

Doubt it will be that much this year.

Though I did just check online, and the few who still had rooms clearly knew in advance and jacked up their rates by double.

Let me guess, one of the private "Condo" rooms downtown, like those on airbnb?

They tend to by outrageous in price, I really wonder how many they actually sell/rent.

On priceline... Saw a room increase $3672 / night between two clicks.

Along those lines, does anyone know anything about those tiny houses they had next to the Gate10 parking in 2019?

Those were slated to be torn down. They just bought the houses for the land they were sitting on.

I wouldn't say superanxious, but yes, I'm anxious. Anytime there's a prioritization that may eventually involve random it worries me. Those rarely work out for me.

GC did say those who rolled their badges over would get priority. I think with the change in date there will b many people who are unable to make it. I also imagine there will be many people who choose not to attend due to the possibility of health concerns. In addition, many international gamers won't be able to go due to travel restrictions.

Well, Gen Con should know the number of badges that were rolled over and/or donated. They may not know their new capacity yet, but once they do they should be able to make some announcement regarding how they will handle the difference.

Yeah, but I'm not in that group. I didn't need to buy a badge until closer to event ticket time. Obviously, that didn't happen last year. So now I have to hope for the best...or maybe volunteer.

I am so conflicted.
I always full time coach at Gencon. But with all the Covid-19, I have gotten a bit socially anxious about being around people. I figure I will get vaccinated by then, but how long before I don't freak out with more than four people near me indoors?
Also, I didn't really budget for any events this year. A good friend is now a VIG, so I can probably get a room, but who knows.
Maybe as we get closer, and I feel a bit less freaked out...

I guess I will embrace the VTD 6, and let that ease my fears for now. I hope I can adjust to the thought about being in a crowd. We shall see over the next several months.
