That didn't hurt at all, so when I agreed to get a Flu shot this fall, I was a bit at ease. But that hurt like a (long string of impolite speech), and hurt for three days after. So now I am twitchy.

The Marriott was cool for standing in that it was carpeted. It was weird in that the dungeon was carpeted.

I can handle the discomfort of shots but can’t watch it (or anything associated with blood.) I didn’t even feel the first Pfizer shot. My wife got Moderna - her arm was sore for a few hours after the first shot and she felt run down after the second shot. My second shot is next week. Even if I get the full out flu like symptoms, I’d crawl through broken glass to get it,

My oldest son caught Covid last summer. Fortunately he recovered but he went from a 19 year old athlete in great health running 11-12 min two mile runs every morning to passing out going up a dozen stairs within days. It took him weeks to recover. Most of us aren’t competitive level athletes - we’ll fair quite a bit worse.

This only ends if nearly everyone gets vaccinated. Kids cannot get vaccinated until this fall. For this to get to where we see something looking like normal, 80%+ of the US has to get vaccinated. If 90% of adults are vaccinated by when kids can get the shots, we can get to a net 80% within 90 days of that.

Get the shot and give anyone who refuses to do so hell for not doing it.

Fred

If they refuse the vaccine, give them hell. If they have valid medical reasons for not getting it, give them support.

Giving the people who refuse the shot hell *is* supporting those who are legitimately medically unable to do so. *nod*

My first shot (Moderna) left me with a sore arm for an afternoon, second shot I woke up with slight flu symptoms the second day (which I had taken off of work) and I basically slept till about 2PM and then was fine.

I will get it, I just want too be at my doctors office when I do in case I react badly, and not at a drive by place with none.
Its funny, there are folks at work who will volunteer for blood draws for clinical trials that I get queasy even typing about. However some of those same folks refuse to donate stool for trials. I guess they think its gross or something? I donate stool everytime and anywhere. It doesn't bother me in the least. So its kind of weird what folks fear. A lab partner in school knew I was afraid of needles and said I should be a med tech to get over it. She had a fear of fire and wouldn't touch the bunsen burner, so I suggested she be a volunteer firefighter to get over it. She didn't think that was a good idea.

So I will get it once I can get it at my doctors office or nearby.

If it is the stabby bit that gives you the most worry, I can tell you it is very quick and not very deep. I think I blinked and missed it. If you have anxiety about it, making sure they have a medical professional nearby is a good idea They will make you wait for 15 minutes after your shot in case you have any issues.

Yep, thats it.
If it were a nasal vaccine, I would have already had it.

Thanks!

The biggest thing to remember in all of this is to be a friend to your friends, be a source of information and not ignorance.

I wish you good luck in getting a shot in a doctor's office. The storage system makes it difficult for a lot of places, as does the need for observation.

FWIW, many of these drive by places have doctors and nurses volunteering their time to be injectors (vaccinators), simply because those who administrate them know they are necessary to have on hand in case of an emergency.

My heart hurts for those who have difficulty with getting shots or legitimate medical reasons as to why it is dangerous for them to do so. I would have to be honest about the fact that I do not know what those medical reason may be, but I sure hope they can clear soon for you to be able to receive the shot.

My perspective on this is that YES side effects do occur and it's possible (however so small) that you may react adversely to the vaccine. But, if a brave soul gets the shot then they are doing a number of important things:

1. Doing what they can do to protect themselves from a serious and long-standing, or even lifelong series of serious medical conditions.
2. Doing what they can do to protect those they come in contact with from a serious and long-standing, or even lifelong series of serious medical conditions.
3. Helping to more quickly move our world back into a state of personal freedom and desirable social activities.
4. Demonstrating that scientific research and testing is viable and trustworthy.
5. You show your genuine respect and support for the millions of heath care workers who have fought this war from he front lines for over a year and are still fighting it.
5. Even if you do suffer a sore arm, chills, body aches, head ache, fatigue, etc. for a day or two it is way better than being on a ventilator for weeks.

So there is a lot more at stake here. Yes, I have to be honest, my entire body hurt for 8 hours the day after shot #2. But then it went away just like that. No lingering effects, Soooo much better than the alternative.

Back to TD, I wonder what 50% capacity means and what it would mean for the True Dungeon experience. Will the rooms need to be bigger? The parties smaller?
I spend most of GC in the coaching room, which is quite tight.
Do we double the size of the coaching area?
Do we limit that by requiring everyone to have their character on the app?
That restricts newer players and those without tech quite a bit.

A lot to ponder.

I'm not sure how much good requiring people to use an app would do given a good chuck of people don't read the disclaimers when they buy tickets.

I wonder how feasible it is to install plexiglass dividers between the coaching seat.
