I just sent the following information out via email to all VTD3b ticket holders. I wanted to post it here also so that anyone that misses the email may find it here.

I hope you are enjoying your VTD weekend. We are happy to be providing another weekend of fun and escape for you!

I'm writing today to give you an unfortunate update. The TD Team sat down several months ago, after the 2021 tokens were ordered and in production, and planned out the 2021 adventures, including the participation tokens, volunteer tokens, and dates for events. When we did that, we were under the assumption that by placing our token order earlier than normal we would receive the order in December, allowing us plenty of time to prepare things for January's event.

Unfortunately we have been contacted multiple times with delays on our tokens. The shipment is off the coast, but due to COVID related issues, there are delays on ports accepting any in-bound ships. The update that we recently received was one we had HOPED would be details of the order being moved from port to customs. Sadly, our latest update was that our order is on a ship that is still waiting for clearance to move into port. As such, we have had to face the realization that the participation and volunteer tokens promised for this weekend's The Deadwill Mine adventure will not be here for us to begin shipping swag boxes next week.

We have debated several options and have come to the conclusion that the best thing to do now is to delay your entire swag box until the participation tokens arrive. We considered other options, including shipping part of the order and then sending a second shipment later or changing the participation token to one we have in stock, but we determined that delaying the entire shipment is the best thing to do for accuracy and (hopefully) player satisfaction. Honestly, these delays feel like another slap in the face from COVID. In all the years we've been doing this we've never had delays like this, even when we had a shipment come in to port during a longshoremen strike! I try to remember that everything happens for a reason, so hopefully there will be that "ah-ha" moment and we're all happy that it worked out this way.

As soon as we receive an update on the token ETA to TD HQ, I will update you!

As a small token of our appreciation for your patience and understanding, we will be adding 1 additional treasure draw for every ticket that you hold. When I run the report on Monday I will adjust your total treasure to reflect the additional treasure draw per ticket, however that new number will NOT be reflected in your td.events account. It will only show up on the report I run after the event is over.

Reposting in this thread, but super understandable and not an issue for me. Treasure will arrive when it arrives!

Is the same true for the 2021 token orders or is that a whole other thing?

Thank you for the update, and I think we all understand. We are just happy that we still get to do TD while all these issues are happening around us. It makes my weekend and look forward to it.

Sad news, but thanks for the update and a BIG thank you for not changing the participation tokens. Totally agree you made the best choice out of the available possibilities.

It’s all good, totally understandable. You can only do what you can do. And shipping once is definitely the best option. Just gives us something to look forward to down the road. Thanks for the bonus treasure!

Ha ha....sorry BC!

Juion, same shipment...we're waiting (kinda not really patiently) and have done lots of prep work. But, even when they come in, we'll have prep work to do.

LordRand, thank you....those comments mean more to the TD Team than you can imagine.

WM13, thanks...it's always hard making decisions like this, but this seemed to be the most reasonable and least disruptive and prone to error.

David, we knew people were looking forward to this set of participation tokens. We're all very aggravated that it's taking so long, but COVID seems to be messing lots of stuff up.

Jeff321, thank you for your patience!

I've received several emails and messages from folks and I must say, y'all are a good bunch of folks. We really do appreciate your understanding and patience. We've been getting updates and hoping that things would resolve themselves, but at some point we just had to face the reality that the delay means we're behind schedule.
