TOPIC: Epic versus NM

I think it's ok if you want to back off at normal level and maybe hardcore to avoid bad experiences for newbies. But at nightmare and epic it should be a challenge to survive. I really appreciated that.

I did notice that as the weekend went along that players who ran multiple times were better prepared and the survival rate went up. On our final Sunday run we weren't sure about epic, so ran nightmare. People were better prepared and we won so fast that we replayed room 7 at epic and still won. Hopefully, a few tweaks prior to V3b will maintain that feeling of possibly coming face to face with our doom.

Being able to deal with monsters because you know what they can and cannot do as well as their weaknesses is always going to improve survivability. It becomes a choice if you want to tackle the monster with that knowledge or not. When I run with my group I build their characters as though I don't know these things so they get a truer experience vs an easier experience. If we die we die, but it will be an adventure for them vs being a guided tour where I have already sniffed out the traps for them...lol.
You either discover a star or you don't. You arrogant punk.

Dang, you must be incredibly geared that you only lost one on epic. We barely made it through on nightmare(6 dead) with some serious UR+ level builds at this point.

Most of us had been through the dungeon already, so we had an edge.

That last fight was awesome! After did all 8 rooms, too. That was crazy fun.
