TOPIC: Urgent info for VTD2a players

Attention all VTD2a players:
If you use Cranston's Character Generator app it is imperative that you update to the latest version BEFORE your run! Please don't wait until you go into coaching to do this update.

Archerin's TD Character Creator has also been updated, so be sure to check your character(s) for any changes to your character(s) if you use that site.

Normally, updates have been made to the app on my iPad automatically. Is there a quick way for me to know that I'm accessing the latest version?

You can look at the version number in the app store. It will tell you if you are up to date. I think the biggest thing is to be familiar with the changes to the app the biggest being moving from room to room and inputting in the dungeon code.

Thanks. I finally found the page in the app store that told me if any of my apps had an update available. The Character generator did, so I'm glad I caught that. It does look different and I see the ability in Virtual TD to go to next room or previous room, so I think I'm ok.

The other major change seems to be that the attack roll is now a proper d20...

It is not a standard d20.

"During the event, you will be instructed how to enable the event functions. When enabled, the app will use a set of percentages to determine the To-Hit roll (1-20), based on the creature makeup. This will be different for every creature. Likewise, if the creature is not subject to Critical Hits or Sneak Attack, those numbers will not be provided, unless you have tokens equipped that allow for it, e.g. Bracers of Guided Strike. So, when enabled, if numbers show for a Critical Hit or Sneak Attack, they are valid. If not, such an attack is not valid."

My level 5 Wizard has Instant Safeguard instead of Acid Ray. Do I just play with that this run?

Might be helpful to note which app you are using and then put this comment in the thread for that app.
