TOPIC: V1b - Arcanist's Bloody Nightmares - Saturday and Sunday LF1M each day

Well folks it's that time of year again. I've had a hard time sleeping and it's giving me terrible dreams. It looks like it's going to evolve into full blown bloody nightmares!


If you've never heard of my Bloody Nightmares run it's a high difficulty challenge run I host about once a year. The jist is this. A fully equipped party takes on Nightmare difficulty using no tokens higher than Rare. I do allow for 2 exceptions. Treasure boosting tokens and a single token to grant you fifth level. Traditionally a Charm of Heroism.

People WILL die, we will LIKELY all die. This isn't about survival, it's about seeing how far an expert player can make it with a severe gear restriction. You have been warned.

Rules for the Arcanist's Bloody Nightmares 2020 edition VTD1

• Only tokens of Common, Uncommon and Rare quality are allowed to be equipped
• Exceptions - Treasure Enhancing tokens and any token that provides fifth level with no additional benefit including but not limited to Ring of Heroism, Charm of Heroism, Ring of Fateful Heroism, Chef's Hat
• Players will be expected to know all puzzles or be OK with puzzle spoilers as we will be minimizing combats if possible
• NEW RULE 2020 - NO CONSUMABLES ALLOWED OF ANY RARITY This includes runestones, potions, oils, ammunition, totem paints or any other item that is consumed on use

I will aim to gather one of the final timeslots on the final day if VTD1 comes back so that any players who missed this weekend have a chance to explore the run before joining us.

The run will be first come first served by posts on this thread only.

It is highly suggested that all players wear linked shirt of healing and pants of blisswalk to maximize incoming healing. It is also highly suggested to stack for HP, Saves and specific elemental resistances.

I'm very much interested in trying this if I can make the timing work (will have to see), and would take druid or cleric. I should look into getting some pants of blisswalk.

20 minutes and we're tentatively at 9 of 10 players. That's to be expected


I do not have exact information as to when the next run of VTD1 would be and I do not know if it will happen. If it does I would expect it to be sometime in August or September and I expect we will get at least a week warning. I hope we hear something one way or the other about it in the next 2-3 weeks. Once TPTD have recovered from this weekend and finished mailing out all the related treasure tokens.

I would be down for this - Ranger preferred, but open to creating any non-wizard build.

Unless there is a time conflict with another run, we are in.
