1. If playing bard, singing is optional. Also people have just clapped their hands, snapped fingers , played instruments
2. Feel free to post your builds . If you happen to get tickets for your friends , you can try asking the rest of the group if they are ok with hardcore.
3. Have you run hardcore before?
4. At gencon there is no slot that goes unwanted. Volunteers work in the morning or afternoon and try to get into runs that fit into their schedule. , true dungeon is popular .

This is another reason to try and find people on the boards that are in your group. Knowing that people are confident at hardcore means that the nightmare capable people can help out the regulars and boost the overall party etc etc etc.

We have never run at the hardcore level before but we are indeed fairly confident at that level. While new to True Dungeon each of us has decades of experience being part of units so doing what's tactically right for the unit's win instead of Leroy Jenkins-ing is pretty automatic for us. For example my druid is thinking of using a Wand of Illumination on the Tomb of Terror's boss lich so the heavies all get +2 to hit rather than trying to score personal points against a lich's magic resistance (I've never played this scenario, but liches elsewhere have always had significant magic resistance).
As for builds, ours are higher-end-red 4th level. My druid is AC 19, 24 HP, melee +4 to-hit/+7 damage, spells are +6 damage plus dusts plus leaf identification. And if we do get recruited for another group's Nightmare run we have Shirts of the Valiant, Potions of Revival Root, and healing potions to keep bouncing back.

Something that does not get emphasized enough. Team work is much more important than gear. One of my best runs ever was last year on a nightmare level with only 7 of us. But we worked well together so it was really better.

Music to my ears. I'm going to start a separate thread to delve more deeply into the topic of teamwork.
