TOPIC: Anyone else worried about the amount of tickets still available?

Anyone else worried about the amount of tickets still available? 2 weeks 1 day ago #1

I ran my first True Dungeon experience this summer at PAX in Seattle and Loved it! I grabbed my tickets for that as soon as I heard it was going to be there and those tickets sold out within days.

I was excited to hear that True Dungeon was coming to Atlanta because my brother wanted to try it too but couldn't make it out to Seattle for PAX. So when I bought my DreamHack Tickets as soon as I heard about that. Now checking the site it seems like very few tickets have been sold.

I'm hoping that there will be a late rush as we get closer to the event, but I gotta say, for now, I'm worried about the apparent lack of interest and tickets sold for the Atlanta event.

DreamHack just sent out a newsletter today where True Dungeon was mentioned (see link below). So hopefully that will help!

Their link in that newsletter goes to dreamhack.com/article/true-dungeon/ which links to www.td.events/

That URL gives me a SSL certificate error in both Firefox and IE. It works in Chrome, oddly enough.

Chrome is smart enough to know about the www not needed. Link goes to www.td.events/
the site however is actually td.events/

To answer the original poster's question. I am actually more surprise PAX west sold out first year. Happy but surprised. When TD went anywhere else the first year it hasn't sold out immediately to my knowledge. But I imagine that it will be one of those things that will spread by word of mouth. Someone will try it and mention to someone else how cool it is and then till catches fire as people attempt to get tickets from a dwindling pool. How long that fire takes to catch....who knows.

PAX South the first year sold out during the weekend not prior but during the weekend. TD has an ingenious way of selling tickets they run people through the demo and people immediately turn around and want to buy tickets. So they will probably run the demo and fill up all the runs that way.

Here's my take on it....for what THAT'S worth! Nothing to worry about. One, it's a new show in a new city. Two, we haven't done much marketing.

There are a lot of other reasons I'm not worried, but those are the biggies. Bob's right...we went to Texas and nobody knew what TD was and we had tickets on the table. We'll get there. It's all good.

For what it’s worth, I have thought of TD as more of an escape room than LARP for a few years now, basically since I learned about escape rooms and thought “oh, this is True Dungeon with no shuffleboard, different theme, and the timer is longer.”
I play Wizard.
