Even speaking as a rogue. I like this, quoting for visibility.

I love the idea of getting the clue another way.

Do we want to open the door for rogues to use scrolls in TD?

Should this be a bard scroll?

If the bard could use this, would you ever bring a rouge, even on first runs through a dungeon? Since I presume most or all parties will have a bard, the bard can just burn 3 or 4 scrolls, and trade the rogue for one of the other 2 characters that you wouldn't have otherwise brought along?

Thats why I'm only ok with it being a scroll (aka will go away eventually). I would be very against Bards just gaining this power.

Just to be clear, you're ok with the bard gaining this power as a scroll, but not as a spell on the card, correct?

I agree, Bards shouldn't have access to the rogue box or clue.

Yes, I am ok with a bunch of scrolls getting out that would allow the bard to access the rogue box clue. That feels like a lore adjacent ability. The first year there would be a lot of them in circulation, which would be bad for rogues but within a few years they would be more rare and special feeling. No worse than the bowl of spirit sight IMO(which I was against but genies out of the bottle).

I would on the other hand be 100% against the bard gaining this power as a spell/power (or even a permanent item) as that would basically obsolete rogues as anything other than a role play class. To be frank the bard was already a stronger class in terms of damage contribution and they can get lore clues in monster rooms.
If anything maybe we should give rogues a scroll that grants them a shot at the bard’s lore clues (but I think this would be better handled on a year when class cards were up for reprinting, then we could give rogues a checkbox ability like 1/game use of “all” category scrolls, maybe even with a built in failure chance).

+1 Quarter Staff already exists, as does Quarter Staff and +2 Quarter Staff. To have quarterstaff and quarter staff at the same time seems needlessly confusing.

As the +2 Quarter Staff doesn't appear to have a non-woodie version and I realized in recent play that woodies should not be used as they pop out of the disk, sure, let's see a +2 Quarter Staff reprint. Except, other than someone like me who finds amusement in using such, who would want one?

A bard getting a clue wouldn't obsolete rare level rogue, just free then up to take token.

That said, probably it's more amusing to leave that forced choice in than easily bypassing it. There's nothing other than making some more rune boards that would prevent bard from getting different puzzle clues when theme appropriate.

Wouldn't something short of concentration be a negative to healing and damage? lol

As hood of shadows was to hood of elvenkind.

I think it's ok to obsolete some tokens from time to time.
Would this ring as proposed even make it into any rare builds? With ring of dark health recently, plus ting of the hallowed, greater holly ring (granted those 2 are completion) and others I'm forgetting, I think the proposed ring would need a 2nd HP to have any chance of seeing play. The ptoblem.would be of course that the revision would make it too close to the ring of the dire boar.

Yup - Tyr's Bracers were purely better than +1 Bracers of Defense .

Ring of Protection was first printed 12 years ago. Compare with Ring of the Anointed which is +1 to AC, Relfx, and ranged to-hit for most players who would consider equipping it.
