TOPIC: GenCon Adventures

Are there really no more tickets to any of the adventures? I did the Swamp and Vault of the All Father @ Origins. Was looking to come to Indiana and play some more. Thoughts?

Thanks.

Check the gen con group index thread for LFM groups (looking for more). It means that someone bought all the tickets and have them available to people on the forums to buy tickets and coordinate classes.

Welcome William! Yes, tickets at Gen Con go fast - a few might pop up as people return stuff if you keep checking.

As Endgame said, your best bet is probably to look for people trying to fill up runs in the forums here.

Wow, I'm amazed both that every single Dungeon ticket is sold, and that there are so many True Grind tickets are still available.

I don't recall ever seeing a 100% sellout for the Dungeons, usually there are a handful of singleton tickets left. I agree people that want tickets should check back frequently to see if any were returned, as well as check the forums to see if anyone has spots available on a run. Also, people can go to the True Dungeon desk with Generic tickets and they might get in on a run where someone doesn't show up.

Regarding True Grind, those used to sell out fastest, and there are still a number of runs with multiple tickets left, I saw one with nine tickets left. Maybe next year True Dungeon should start giving some treasure pulls for True Grind. Maybe something like 3 automatically to everyone, and up to 7 more via treasure enhancing tokens. If we did that, it might sell out even if the price were bumped up to $50.

Please be careful - because this is no longer true. You must purchase all tickets through GenCon's website now. You can no longer get in with generics.

This is all detailed in this thread, by Lori and Druegar. Starting on post 11:

Generics don't work anymore due to how electronic ticketing work at least as of last Gen Con.

Please leave Grind as it is. I enjoy it as it's where more esoteric token interactions come into play and all sorts of combat shenanigans. I like going through hack and slash and not having to worry about slotting in greed in my builds.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Thanks for the correction. I've never done the Generic ticket route myself for True Dungeon, and didn't realize that option was no longer there.

I totally understand that. I'm only making the point that since we're in a situation where every single ticket from every single Dungeon are sold, and yet there are numerous True Grind tickets still available when it is less than half the price and started with far fewer tickets, some sort of adjustment may need to be made. At least, that's what I'd be thinking if I were part of the True Dungeon management team.

I can not believe how hooked I became on the game. Since I have a theater degree, I love the combination of D&D which I have played and DM'd for years and the performance aspect as well.

That immersion is really what keeps us all coming back! Welcome to a great, great game.
