TOPIC: 2018 Treasure Tokens

2018 Treasure Tokens 5 years 2 months ago #1

My understanding is Jeff agreed to bring some treasure boxes for 2018 to Origins even though there won't be any 2018 adventures.

This may be unpopular but why don't we just have 2018 treasure tokens be exchanged by mail before the con? I enjoy pulling the tokens physically as well but between the logistics and distraction of having to work out treasure for 2018 to be available for a small subset of all the Origins players, it seems like an unnecessary trouble.

I didn't do my pulls at GenCon (it is always a zoo there - a long wait to get to the treasure box)(that and I never seem to get anything good there ;) ). I've got 120-130 treasure pulls in chips that I'd have no problem shipping to TD and do the exchange by mail.

Why don't we just do that for everyone this year? It costs us an extra $5-$10 and saves Jeff and crew many hours of time and the pain of having to organize, prepare, and bring the 2018 pull boxes to Origins.

Thoughts?

That sounds like a good idea to me, so long as we can send in treasure draws with a transmute order. It sounds like it would save the whole crew a lot of heartache and confusion.

I'd imagine it would be a huge headache for TD HQ, but I've always thought it would be great to be able to do large treasure draws by mail. It'd take a lot pressure off keeping the boxes stocked at the cons and people wouldn't have to wait for teams with 100+ pulls to finish.

I am neither of them, but in the past, if you wanted to have pulls shipped with an order it wasnt an issue.

No matter what, they will have to bring 2018 treasure to origins to allow people to pull it, as there are far too many who are not on the forums.

Speaking only for myself (NOT an official proclamation!) I'd rather we do pulls at cons.

It is our intention to have a lot more big-bags of treasure at cons. Hopefully that will ameliorate the issue of handling massive pulls.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Will Origins have 2019 treasure pulls?

Since we are running both 2018 and 2019 adventures at Origins 2019, we will have both 2018 and 2019 treasure available.
We'll be bringing the last of our 2018 treasure--both 50-packs and loose pulls. When the 2018s are gone, folks can get 2019 treasure (of which we have plenty).

So, if we want 2019 pulls, wait until later in the event to do pulls. I wonder on which day the 2018s will run out and the 2019s will be available.

Nothing like a hugh backlog showing up Saturday evening late to turn in treasure chips.

I'm bringing about fifty 2018 treasure tokens, and I just want to make sure:

Am I limited to using them only on the 2018 treasure boxes? or if those boxes run out, can I use them on the 2019 treasure boxes?
When in doubt, go left

What was stated before was that 2018 draws will net one 2018 treasure, until as and unless there is no 2018 treasure left, at which point they will be honored as if they were 2019 chips and allow one to draw 2019 treasure.

Ultimately, each pull will be honored.

Some were speculating about a mad dash for the treasure generators on Saturday night sometime near closing......
