TOPIC: Planar charts and the element of surprise

Planar charts and the element of surprise 4 years 7 months ago #13

What about putting a sticker of the planar chart on the board (without names of course). Then there would be no need for double sided boards-assuming the DM has a few (or all) memorized.

That would keep your surprise element and potentially save time as they are already at the combat board.

Hmm, as a trainer and a player I counsel my casters to do their casting off to the side while the sliders are sliding. I’m leery of cluttering the space around the sliding board.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Recall folks with a tshirt of things to do in a room. Bardsong, alterness as a scroll, guard etc. Just make sure you tell the room dm the same minute or two of preps in 7 rooms unless one is obvious a puzzle.
