It's a little more challenging at SDCC. If you're talking about lines to get into the exhibit hall or into a panel, you have to buy a $300 badge just to get into the area where the lines happen. So, the first 10 hours in line are just to break even. Hotel prices are above Gen Con rates. Although, I guess if you're in line almost 24x7 you won't need a hotel. After a certain cut-off time you'll need to make sure you were present for a wrist band in order to camp out (or use the restroom). But if you overcome those challenges, yeah, you might find takers for that price.

I'm saying this because I just came back from SDCC. I just totaled up my line time and spent 49 hours in line or waiting to get in line so I could enjoy about 30 hours of panels and exhibit hall. That's SDCC.

So, the question is, would you have paid an extra $1,200 to reduce the line time down to 4 or 5 hours and get an extra 40 hours in the events you’d like? ($1,200 for 40 hours of line time)? For the person doing the waiting, they clear $900 for 40 hours of work done in 2-3 days. Not a fantastic living but not terrible considering The work consists of playing video games, talking to people, reading, and waiting.

It sounds silly but it wouldn’t surprise me if this is a real thing,

Fred

Any idea what the pizza is this year? I looked, but couldn't find if they had posted it yet.

Attendees, are you ready?!? HotBox Pizza is your Official Pizza of Gen Con and a Pie has been CHOSEN. It's your turn to do some work. Bacon, Cheese, Red Onion, and....Tater Crowns on a Ranch Sauce. What should we name this gem? #partnerpost survey.app.do/hotbox-pizza-name

I would rather wait and get something that is actually good. I know a lot of people dont agree, but i place hot box as the worst pizza.

Wouldn't know. I've never patronized them out of resentment for their exclusive pizza license preventing anyone else from selling pizza at the convention.

I think you guys haven't had truly terrible pizza. Hot box is definitely a step above, say, little Cesares or cicis

It isn't the best pizza I've had, but it's locally owned and the pie of the week is a pretty good deal.

Hey now. Little Caesar's is far better than a $5 pizza has any right to be, even if it doesn't quite hold up against pies that are 2-3 times as expensive.

Even better at $5 a pizza versus $8 a slice. Imaging if you could set up near the con selling each little Caesars pizza at $10 and see just how quick you sell out doubling your money.

Fall down......Go boom!
