Now that we have a season that spans across years, it is probably better to think of the icon symbols representing TD seasons rather than worrying about calendar years. So they have the 2018 symbol because PAX South 2019 is part of the 2018 season.

Either this, or perhaps we need to think in terms of 'token seasons' for the completion tokens. The 2019 tokens will not be released until after pax south, so it still has 2018 tokens.

I guess we will know which interpretation is correct when we look at the origins completion tokens, since there will be 2018 dungeons run after 2019 tokens are released.

Tokens released in and around the period when TD Seasons came into being may fall into a gray area when it comes to year icons. One may expect year icons to be more consistent once Seasons have become routine.

Also, bear in mind tokens are printed in advance, so there is some lead time that needed to be overcome.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Just going from my memory, here.....

Guild (2007) and Invitation (2008) were given to everyone.

Sort of.
These were both given out at the end of the run (as Completion tokens are) and allowed players one free entry to the TD Fantasy Tavern. Some people used them, but others kept them as collectibles.
I'm pretty sure they were in addition to the regular completion tokens given out that year.

Ring of the Eye (2007) was the hardcore completion token.

Matches with my memory, yep.

The rings from 2008 represent the light/dark deities in the story arc, but what this means for source I don't know.
Seems odd to have two completion tokens for True Grind 2010, so something's up with that.

As far as I can recall, Ring of Iuz was the Hardcore completion token, and Pelor was the Normal mode token.
But that's not something I can say for sure.

And for the Necklace of the Ash & Necklace of the Elm....

My memory of this was that you got them by wearing the Amulet of Wonder into the dungeon, at the True Realm Event. You got Necklace of the Ash for doing one of the dungeons, and Necklace of the Elm for the other. Once word got out about this particular effect for the AoW, everyone who had an AoW started wearing them, just to get the exclusive tokens.

Ring of Pelor was definitely for normal.

That does not feel right to me. I think it was the Adventure at WYC not the grind. I don't remember what it was called though. I ended up with a bunch of ducks and I should not have got that many if it was grind as I only do 1 or 2 grinds. An adventure it is very possible I bought out a run or two.

The ducks ended up in the gencon treasure mix after the event they were distributed in - so there are tons floating around from that.

That is also true of the +2 Sling Bullet of Gazebo Slaying they appeared in the boxes after WYC.

Still smarting from that one, i traded a grind ticket for a duck as i wanted the duck and didn't realize yet they were in the boxes.

I like the concept of seasons and get that stuff is printed in advance, we're on the 3rd year of GHC already. Think it's sinking into the folks by now.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I wasn't at GHC; were the new participation tokens given out as expected? (Ioun Stone Glass Cube, Ioun Stone Glass Sphere, Hungry Hero's Feast, Golden Apple of Salvation)

I'm seeing at least one report that the Ioun Stones were given, but the Mead/Ale Earcuffs were also given out.

Thanks!

I got the glass Ioun stones on N3 and the Apple and Feast on N2. I ran each side once each of the 3 days though I did not run on Nightmare on most of the runs.

I may have misunderstood, or the report could have been wrong. Good to know they were handed out as expected!
