TOPIC: Onsite Printing of TDCC Party Cards

Onsite Printing of TDCC Party Cards 5 years 9 months ago #1

I am going to be providing a laptop and laser printer at Gen Con for printing previously created TD Character Creator (TDCC) party cards. I spoke with TPTB and they have committed supplying the electrical power for it but we don't know where the "printing" station will be located.

TD Character Creator (TDCC) is located at: tdcharactercreator.com and is a fully endorsed by TD as a character builder (see truedungeon.com/resources ).

One key feature of TDCC is that as your players enter and update their character the coordinator does not have to also enter those changes - instead TDCC automatically syncs any player changes on the party card.

I encourage anyone that is coordinating a full or nearly full run to leverage the TD Character Creator web site and then print the Party Card on site at Gen Con.

I really appreciate this. It's great to see some ideas that were floating around at Origins come to fruition so fast. I think this is a great boon to the community and coaches. I know I will be using this at Gen Con!

Thanks again Master Ed.

Cool. I missed the news on official status.

I like the site and it's functionality. I am a bit worried about relying on the wireless or even LTE reception in LOS.

Will your printer be iOS friendly to allow us to print from Cranstons app? While it does not have the ability to build party cards from other online profiles, characters can be shared via Bluetooth connections and a party card created in that manner. And it's not dependent on internet access.

I am not sure - I haven't tested it for that function. I wouldn't plan on it (to be safe).

Nothing, if there is no Internet there can be no retrieving of online characters. I have had the same provider for both Lucas Oil events and both times I was able to retrieve my characters online so I believe it will be possible - I am optimistic. I will do some tests during the build to make sure.

New guy here. I use TDCC to generate my builds at home. What are the advantages of doing this at GenCon? Would it speed up the training room time? I assume everyone still has to present their tokens of course. Just curious- bestow thy wisdom upon this first timer.

none, really
I may be wrong, but I got the impression this was aimed at folks who hadn't already planned their stats at home.

Pregenerated stats are a HUGE benefit in the coaching room. All the coach has to do is verify your tokens and copy over the numbers.

most definitely
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .
