Is the 6th level player bonus (+1 treasure) allowed or not? It is unclear since that is a player bonus, not a token. It does specify 3 draws though.

I would say no. It’s sealed pack. That mean no other tokens

I would guess that the level 6 bonus (despite not exactly being a token) wouldn't apply because the event specifies "Each player gets 3 draws..." Where other TD events specify "at least 3 random draws..."

Here is the full description. For the record I don't care either way. Just trying to prevent arguments in coaching.

Short Description: Last seen at Gen Con 2014, this is a great introductory dungeon for new players & a lot of fun for veterans who missed it the first time. SEALED: Only provided free tokens can be used.

Long Description: This full adventure (last seen at Gen Con 2014) is a great intro dungeon for new players & a lot of fun for veterans who missed it the first time. It’s an immersive adventure where players must venture into a desert-themed snake temple to face some of the most beloved puzzles and monsters from TD's long history. Only the provided 10-pack of free tokens can be used in the event. This adventure was a big hit in 2014, so we are bringing it back as an alternative to our three new enhanced N – Series adventures. Normal XP is available (only Non-lethal & Normal modes are an option) for those who did not play the event in 2014. Each player gets 3 draws from a Treasure Generator of last year’s 2017 Treasure Tokens, and a Rare Completion Token. Unlike the N-Series of adventures (where you can arrive 30 minutes early) please arrive at ticket desk no sooner than 10 minutes before your start time.

On a similar, totally hypothetical note... if this year's GT runs give the participants some universal bonus (or penalty for Ed), would those apply to Viper's Pit? In theory it's the same as the level 6 treasure bonus -- the player has a non-token-based bonus.

I would say the 6th Level Player Bonus would and should apply.

Player Level Bonuses should trump the Adventure "rules."

If they didn't that's like saying someone can't wear their 7th Level Badge Holder into the Adventure. Or use their Level 3 Bonus to choose a character class over someone lower level.

I would actually think on the sealed runs you wouldn't want to give anybody the ability to force a class selection. I feel it's meant for new/casual players and having somebody be able to force their class selection seems more likely to annoy new players than inspire them to want to play more, especially because there's not the standard reason of having a ton of tokens dedicated to a single class build. From a practical standpoint I'm not sure it really matters as I don't think that player level bonus almost ever gets invoked.

Basically, let sealed mean completely independent from everything else. No need to explain in the limited coaching time to a new player why they can't have the class they want. No need for the coaches/trainers to verify 5th level player token. No need to train what I suspect will be new coaches on the extremely rare temporary bonuses a handful of players have (where if a new player asks how they have that the answer is often going to contain the phrase "8000 dollars").

I don't see why player loyalty bonuses wouldn't apply. It's a seal run in terms of tokens but player level bonuses aren't linked to tokens (other then the lv 9 which isn't what were discussing). As a coach I'd have no problem with it but let's wait for the official word.

would wait for official ruling on this. All else is speculation and interpretation. As one of the Vipers Pit coaches, it will be important that this is clear and known.

Replying so I don't lose the thread if/when this question is officially answered. Intrigued to know if player level bonuses affect sealed dungeons, since player level bonuses are not bestowed by equipped tokens.
