weaverjk wrote: Thanks, all. I appreciate your input. I was aware of those details.. Due to constraints, such as choosing not to pull our daughter out of her freshmen year of high school for 3-4 days while she is in four honors classes, we have chosen to go to Gen Con. This is why I posted in the Gen Con section.
I played and volunteered in at least 2006-2008 (maybe longer).
If I am correct, Gen Con now runs 4 dungeons, doubling the size.
Are they still at 10 players? I really liked 8 better.

In the past, the registration system has been so crappy that many people couldn't get tickets. I always used 2-3 computers to try to nab what I wanted. It was insane.

Is this process any better? Sounds like it isn't.

Thanks.

John, great to have you back at GENCON!

I recommend that you load up your Wish List with True Dungeon runs, and try to be online exactly at the start of registration. Tickets went incredibly fast last year, demand is a lot higher than supply.

If you really want to run with 8 players, you can always try to get a full 10 slot of tickets, and then just run with 8. Some people buy full slots so they can run with fewer than 10 people - some because they want to run with less, and some so they can have "ghost" players to get additional treasure coins. Be sure you're up on the current rules for that if you want to try that route.

Well.... my wife was able to snag the 1:45p housing time slot. The closest thing we saw was a single Queen room only three blocks away. By the time we decided to nab it, the closest was a single King Six blocks away. That's what we grabbed.
Wow. No wonder I have always volunteered for TD (besides the love of TD itself that is). $500 for badges. $1300 for hotel. Still have parking, food, True Dungeon, other events, and the Dealer Hall. Holy cow! No summer camp for our kids this year.... Gen Con and True Dungeon will be their summer getaway.

weaver family,

it will be good to see you all again. I remember meeting the wife and kids at WYC a couple of years ago. I hope to see you all again this year. :woohoo:
