TOPIC: What to expect against Lori

You all must have been on the second Jeffagorgon at TDC. I don't remember it being that easy as all you have described.

I was on the same night as you were and it was not nearly that easy as they describe.

In the group I was in, the Paladin died mulitple times guarding my bard and I ended up dying once also. I was getting hit with the area of effect and was the targeted player each round until the last 2 rounds of the night. The Cleric did some major healing to me also.

Based on the Jeffegorgon, combat unfolded like this:

1. There was one gigantic combat board (roughly as big as maybe 2 pingpong tables long end to long end).

2. There were two lieutenant monsters that had be be fought first - both were very powerful. One had mainly spell AoE attacks that targeted everyone, and one that had mainly melee or ranged attacks.

3. After defeating the lieutenant monsters we had to clear away some magical defenses that protected the Jeffegorgon, followed by the boss himself.


In terms of awesome tokens for this event:

1. Cloak of Shadowskin.

2. For Arcane casters, Scroll False Image / Scroll Missilebane

3. Dragon Tooth Amulet was a total MVP for me in my build.

4. Bards - be sure to use your lore checks!

5. Paladins can be very powerful in keeping squishy targets alive, but be aware that the bad guys hit _really_ hard - be prepared to revive them!

I agree with everything Matthew said. My signature says a lot, particularly given that it was round 3 against the lieutenants.

I was in the second group. Only 6 of 30 were left standing at the end. I taunted the first wave of minions and lived to tell the tale.

But after that..

Mushroom
Duck ( which how I ended)

Without Smak and his hammer, we likely would have been toast.

As I recall the Bard lore check was not enough.. I believe we needed a druid to check too.

Needed both Bard and Druid check. IIRC our Druid was a duck by then so we couldn't make the check.

Ours took 4 successes across bards and druids I believe.

for the paladin having a Crown of Expertise and having the cleric restore the paladin sacrafice ability still may not be enough. Monsters hitting ac 40 and 40 DC on saves. Our run our paladin was using that ability just to survive as well because it's sets you both at 5 hp.

Hitting AC 40? Do you mean consistently or with a good roll? I ask because i think most of my builds will have an AC between 20 and 30; is it worth the effort to push for 30AC, or will i get hit every time anyway, so i might as well ignore my AC and load up on offense?
