I already know that GHC overlaps with the IL State Marching Band Competition, so I guess they won't get an in-person run this year. (No, before you say it, we're not going to Ring Con. :P)

Jeff, how does this impact the recipe for the in-person completion transmute? I'm guessing that the bead requirements will be cut dramatically for the Bead of Divine Choice.

I used to do Origins every year then stopped in 2020. I've been back once since. It isn't one of my favorites any more. It isn't as well run as other shows and there isn't a ton of unique things there. Gencon has the atmosphere and events you won't find almost anywhere else. GHC has a lot of the cool Gencon events (for RPGs and TD) and isn't a mob and it is very well run. I'm planning to checking out Garycon in the next couple years - that may be my routine 3rd convention.

Fred

We've talked about Gary Con for a few years. Maybe this is the impetus for us finally doing that. Sitting around playing wargames and TTRPGs sounds fantastic.

We live in Columbus, so I'm probably going to Origins some amount anyway, but definitely not for the full show and definitely not calling off work like I would have if TD was there.

thanks for letting us know.

Origins wanted us there. We decided not to go for many reasons.

Yes, the Bead recipes will be altered to fit where we attend. Thanks.

Sad to hear about GHC losing the mini run as that was my brother's favorite this year, but glad there will still be grind.

The only significant event I’ll miss at Origins is the Kobold Midnight Massacre (run by the Kobolds ate my baby writers and crew.)
