Amulet of Treasure Finding would be a nice choice for the one UR also.

We're in a similar situation. By the time the exclusive dungeon was announced, there was no way for Tobey and I to attend. We have not missed any XP opportunities since we started in 2008 and 2007 respectively. Since it is difficult for us to attend more than one event, having GenCon as the one we could rely on to participate in each dungeon and even volunteer at was a perfect fit.

While doing a virtual run sounds cool, there may be too many people interested for this to be something they would want to support. That said, I'd make time to try that out if they were game. Their benefit would be more tickets sold.

And yet despite not being there you have the xp logged. Interesting how xp means nothing when we don't follow the rules

Perhaps you missed above where many people offered to carry her “on a stick”

More important might be why you care about someone else’s XP, or how it affects you in any meaningful way

Personally I don't care if I'm ever on top of the XP leader board. I also don't care if people cheat the system.

That being said I've only ever logged XP cards for events that I've actually played and at the appropriate difficulty level and farthest room I've reached because it feels like I would be cheating if I were to just log a random XP card when I didn't actually play. How can one get "experience" for an adventure if they never went on the adventure?

I can see why some might care because being first on a leaderboard is cool. I can see why others could care less.

I really like the XP system a lot and it's always great hitting a new level. I also feel content knowing that all of my XP points were earned in the sense that I actually went on the adventure.

I can't speak for others, but I'll put in my opinion. First, other people's XP doesn't affect me at all. However, there are "bragging rights" for being the top True Dungeon player. You get XP by playing in events. If you can't make it to an event, that sucks, but you don't get XP. If people feel they can circumvent the rules by bringing you in on a phone on a stick, then that's not really fair to other people who have been trying to get the top spot. Those people do seem to have been having a good time though and it doesn't seem adversarial, which is good; TD is a great community. So yeah, me personally, I don't think its fair to others. However, people also trade and sell XP online, so I guess its a moot point. But I definitely see the issue.

I enjoyed being top 5 for more than a decade, especially when I jumped to #1 if I put in XP right after my run. It was neat having run every single True Dungeon and True Heroes event since the start. But, I'm also enjoying now not caring at all about XP, and being totally OK with just doing one run per year. :)

I can't say too much on the topic (by request of the powers that be) but I can confirm that I did manage to play Escape the Crypt, and the XP was earned legit - directly from TD, not a code purchased off the internet.

If anyone would like to accuse me of cheating, I invite you to take that up with TD.

That said, I do not expect to stay on top of the Leaderboard much longer. TD is doing more events, at more cons, and I - and probably a lot of others - can't afford multiple international vacations per year, just to Catch 'Em All. When it was just GenCon you had to attend to collect Max XP? Maybe. But now... it's getting harder.
This year, Jeff was kind enough to go live on Trent Tokens YouTube, and give us all a list of the events which will be at all the cons throughout 2026, and I can make a valiant attempt to catch the ones worth XP. And if I don't, at least I know in advance and (unlike this past GHC) am not caught by surprise by an unexpected event being worth XP.

In the end, though, as many people have said, it's just bragging rights.
It doesn't really affect anyone else.

I’m glad Raven got to extend the streak one more dungeon!

It’s a neat chance to also celebrate and reflect on what a milestone that is, and how much Td has changed and we have since we started playing, whenever that was!

Td XP is a strange mix of player rewards and bragging rights.

I think TD would do well to separate the two.

Arguably Dave should have way more “XP” than anyone lol!

I think it would be neat if player rewards tracked dungeons run (total, non unique dungeons regardless of difficulty, probably including stuff like grind, etc.)

XP could still be its weird “unique dungeons run but also difficulty matters and survival stats but not for redux or greatest hits dungeons but sometimes for non GenCon dungeons but also for redux dungeons if you don’t have xp from the original” system it is today.
