About 5 months.

(Puts on tin foil hat) PayPal's dispute deadline is 180 days after the charge - coincidence? (Takes off tin foil hat).

Worldbuilders has been around for a few years. Yes, it'd be awesome if they had more coordination and we'd received our tokens already. But keep in mind that they are a charity first.

Ok, so I’ve tried to keep positive and remember that they are a charity, but frankly my grumpy-half is still... well... grumpy. It’s the not knowing and lack of communication that kills me. “We’re working out it” doesn’t count.

They are working to get things out but had planned to have volunteers to help with shipments but couldn’t due to covid. So, their receiving (swag coming in) and shipping (turning it around back to us) is operating at about 20% speed compared to 2019. 2019 they weren’t fast either, though.

Best to view it as the swag should come this year, probably no later than October (because that’s when new stuff likely starts arriving there.) The TD stuff is maybe 1% of everything they need to ship.

It would be nice for them to be a bit more organized but it definitely isn’t a scam. I would prefer if they had a system providing drawing results and eta’s for shipping even if the shipping isn’t any time near now. They need an inventory control system with bar code printers and readers. Tie that to their payment notification platform and you could easily do notifications and reminders. It would likely reduce their shipping and inventory time as well as you would know where everything is and where it needs to go without hunting around for anything. I’ll suggest it to them as something they could do a drawing to help fund next year. Including time for an implementation specialist, I doubt it would cost more than $20K and would likely save hundreds of hours each year.

If it does taken that long I hope TPTB consider extending the transmute window for the candle.

I can’t imagine TD would close the transmute window before we even got the honey.

Is there any way to know if all 500 (535?) Honeycombs are already accounted for in donations or if it is still possible to donate and get one?

You would need to contact worldbuilders. I don't think all are accounted for when I last did a count, but that doesn't mean you can still get one or not. Only WB would know that.

I don’t think most people have ever received there honeycombs (I know I haven’t), I would not donate if the goal is to get a reward, I think there is a very high likelihood they never show up.

If you believe in the charity’s mission then that’s a good reason to donate.

I suspect they will show up. I admit, though, it is frustrating that Worldbuilders doesn’t respond to email.

I feel pretty confident they will show up eventually. I've never done Worldbuilders before, but it doesn't seem like an organization that fails to follow through on promises, especially when teamed with True Dungeon. I'm in no hurry, they'll get here when they get here. :)

We're definitely going to get stuff eventually. The reason people donate to Worldbuilders instead of directly to Heiffer or not donating at all is the possibility of winning cool stuff. Make it clear you're not going to get anything and Worldbuilders dies really quickly.

I donated because people on this forum say they do great work. It’s not like the Red Cross or the Salvation Army that I am very familiar with. I donated $100 knowing that likely I was going to only get one Honeycomb, and that was fine. I just think after this much time we need to realize it’s probably not going to be completed, and if you donate it should be because you believe in the greater mission, or believe people on the forums that say they do great work.

Also I think most of us are willing to give them a Covid mulligan for this year.

From what others have said this is standard operating procedure for them, so I am expecting tokens to randomly show up one day. Someone will post on the forums that they got theirs. Some people will freak out because they haven't gotten theirs and at some later point they will. I don't think WB got the product from TD until likely after we got our pre-orders if I had to guess. Then based on everything that has been said in this thread they take forever to do shipping......that is when COVID isn't happening which apparently made things even slower.

I don't know about standard procedure, based on their blog :

2013/14: Lottery drawing complete on March 19, shipping complete by ~May 1st

2014/15: Lottery drawing begun January 7, no announcement of when shipping was complete by they estimated prior to when they did the drawing in 2013/14 - so March 19th estimated.

2015/16: Everything shipped by February 4th

2016/17: Everything shipped by April 4th

2017/18: Shipping began in February, was estimated to be completed by end of March

2018/19: All international prizes shipped by Feb 21s, estimated to be completed by end of March.

2019/20: Blog post regarding shipment on April 17th, claimed they had started to ship things.

If you look at the longest it ever took them to ship stuff ~4 months, and consider they may have not started till mid April, I guess you could justify hoping it will show up until around mid-August.

I personally don't believe donors will be getting anything, but I'd love to be wrong.
