That wasn't a traditional transmute, there was a separate communication to the player base about moving from the old CoA to the new one with the RFID chip. I believe that was a hard deadline of end of 2019.

Separately, I never knew the CoA was ever a relic (and blue) - I like how that looks.

** If that is TD's stance that the CoA exchange is not being pushed back that needs to be stated CLEARLY to the community as well as the 3rd party sellers. Or there will be some very upset people who have been waiting on this declaration who have felt unsafe in sending theirs in over the mail***

Seems reasonable - my suggestion is to just edit the transmutes page to state this isn't being extended. Alternately, just extend it with everything else since we're operating virtually anyway until, at least, August of next year.

Fred

Also by this logic of not being a traditional transmute does that mean that the Orion's Belts need to be turned in this year?

I believe the transmutes were pushed back a year but I thought there was an exception for CoA. With everything being virtual, I can't see a good reason why TD shouldn't delay that transmute as well.

Yes but old CoA's have to be turned in and replaced with a new version of the CoA that has an RFID chip in it. They look the same but the new one feels slightly lighter (no metal core I think).

In the Treasure Allocation Document under CoA it had (what I hope is) a typo showing the 2016 CoA version needed to be turned in by 2019 for the RFID option or it is now not accepted.

From the tokendb

In 2019, a higher-security version was released. Owners of the 2016 version needed to exchange it for the 2019 version before December 1st, 2020.As of Origins 2019, the 2016 version cannot be used in game.

So I agree it is a typo.

The question remains if this transmute recipe still expires December 1, 2020, or if it, like other recipes, has been extended.

I mailed mine (2) in because I wanted to be able to use them at pax south. I wouldn’t want to not be using them now either, so I guess I’m glad I did.

The Treasure Allocation for VTD file has been updated* with the correct date to exchange a 2016 Charm of Avarice for a 2019 version. Regardless, a 2016 CoA may not be used in game.
*Look in the footer of any page in that file. If the version you're seeing shows it was last updated on August 6, you have the old version. Clear your browser's cache and re-download the file.

Regarding Transmute Cutoff Dates
  • The cutoff date to exchange a 2016 CoA for a 2019 CoA is not being extended and remains December 1, 2020.
That means, as of the time this was posted, you have less than three months to make the exchange.
  • As previously announced, the cutoff date to make 2019 transmutes has been extended to December 1, 2021.
Note: This change of date does NOT apply to Charm of Avarice. As a Legendary, its recipe has no expiration date. However, the date to exchange a v2016 for a v2019 is not extended.
  • As previously announced, the cutoff date to make 2020 transmutes has not been extended and remains December 1, 2021.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

While your post is incredibly clear, I think it will disappoint many.

Without the ability to transmute in person, people now have to trust their package delivery service of choice with their CoA. This means that, instead of just paying shipping, they should (hopefully) be paying shipping plus insurance on $1200-1300 (or so).

Note, I don't have a dog in this fight, mine were transmuted at the first possible opportunity.
