My guess is that VIGs spend on average more than the average attendee so it would seem to benefit the vendors as well.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to support Thursday early entry access to the Exhibit Hall for any attendee

that was in the VIG forum...so it sucks

the only thing I can suggest is to get the VIGs to all send a message to Mike asking Why. and saying it was an important part

I have a friend who applied and won the lottery last year (her first GC ever). It appears they did take it away, with a "unfortunately, we are no longer able to support Thirsday early entry access to the exhibit hall for any attendees"

Is it wrong that I see this and hope it means more vigs drop the program so I have better shot at the lottery?

Kirk Bauer wrote: I guess it's possible they already do this, but I personally think you should get one entry into the "raffle" for each consecutive year you have been trying. This gives a better chance to the long-timers while still making it possible for new entrants to make it right away.

Yeah, that'd be nice. Or they could simply stop their fascination with random lotteries. Just make it a wait list.

I like Kirk’s idea of one drawing for each year submitted and not chosen. This will be year 6 for me.

If anyone out there has an extra vig companion pass, I’d be interested in jumping in on it!

I "won" the VIG opportunity last year, but couldn't justify the high cost. My group usually stays away from downtown because of a very poor hotel number, but we can make it work. $650.00 seems to me to be a lot for those perks. Obviously I am in the minority because they keep selling out no matter what the cost.

Trade day early access was taken away this year, so no they won’t be in early.

All in all I agree with not letting Any one in early and I also think they should stop exibiters from being able to buy early as well. But that’s just an imo

I've been going to GenCon since 2005. I regret the past few years never getting a VIG Badge.
