D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Very cool. I wonder how long it will take to build and how much of a nightmare it will be until completion on traffic and such in the area.

Good news, but hopefully they add more parking as well. I usually park in that garage and it sounds like it is being removed for this.

A good question. Its hard to imagine anyone building 1400 hotel rooms without a parking plan.

The PDF I saw on one of the news stories shows the layout of the ground floor and second floor. You can clearly see an entrance and exit to an underground parking structure, although it sounds like the plan is to demolish the current parking and build it all from scratch because it is not currently designed to handle the weight of a hotel.

Saying that I expect it will mostly be intended for use by the hotel guests. I have never parked in the existing garage, but I looked it up and I found a site which states it has 1,200 parking spaces. Even if it still has 1,200 parking spaces when it reopens that is not enough to provide every hotel room with a space, let alone employees, and convention guests.

They plan to break ground in 2019, and it will open in 2022. So its possible this will already be under construction by next Gen Con.

The current lot is only one floor. They’ll have to dig deeper, and hope they don’t awaken a balrog.

Those who stay at the Crowne next year will be screwed.

.

The Circle Center development was nothing more than two large holes in the ground for years before it was completed. If they were going to hit a Balrog, that would have been it.

Hmmm, or maybe the Balrog was the reason it was unfinished for so long...
