I used about 10 potions of distilled healing for 11, in addition to lots of healing from the cleric, and 2 phoenix figurines.

So much damage.

I think what you mean is:

"Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

I wouldn't trade it for any other experience, that's for sure.

Another? Debatable....

I think the darkrift attack that left the taint of not being able to be healed hurt the most. I used my pixie on that one to auto save but half of our party dropped from me not being able to heal them on that one.

Wade Schwendemann wrote: It took 3 bards plus a druid to figure it out on Friday as well.

That cost our druid her life, as Binia couldn't heal the round she used the bowl.

For each of the three versions of the Jeffagorgon, you could use Lore to gain insights on how to damage it.

However, Lore required the combined efforts of 4 different players. In addition to Bards and Druids (aren't you glad that that the Bowl of Spirit Sight was actually useful?), I had allowed for some other creative attempts but those scenarios never came up (and will remain a secret!).

For both Friday and Saturday, the groups did have 4 players use Lore on the Throne combat. However, none of the groups used Lore on the Warhammer combat of the final combat. (Could also be because some of those characters were dead by then).

On Friday the bards tried but only 2 were able to try since the third was not a bard at the time. I believe we were trying for either the force field or throne. The attempt failed at that point.

Some good info described so far.
As stated I was an assist on Saturday, the other 9th assist was helping draw ducks on player cards :) among other errands. Sadly I couldn't for the life of me feature out how to draw one. Hopefully folks liked that extra touch.

I was indicating on the cards how many times died and i'm curious to see the final tallies but I would not at all be surprised to see an average death count of 3 per player.

I noticed like every free action a play could take they seemed to be taking to heal or buff.

Pro tips to have a chance to survive seemed to be:
1. lots of hit points
2. ring of improved evasion or monk
3. immune to missile attacks or monk
4. damage reducers, especially ranged and spell, and elemental types :Supreme, bloodless, Facted
5. "shot stoppers" = shadowskin, stoneskin
6. "shot evaders" = blending, blur, blink, mirror image
7. "save fixers" = figurines and coins to re-save or avoid bad effects from
8. Death's Die and Potions of Death's Door.
9. truck loads of healing.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

There are 3 tokens I equipped that will changed going forward.

Overall happy with playing Bard. Able to help party and do spell and scroll damage of 115 or so again Jeffagorgon.

Turned in one blue mushroom due to not getting healing for 4 rounds and a handful of scrolls

Potions of distilled healing were not useful based on amount of damage I was taking. None were taken. Situation would have been taking 30 and healing 30 followed by taking 30 and healing 10 over two rounds and giving up doing 40 damage over the two rounds. Net swing of 60 in Jeffagorgon favor.

My Bard died once and was alive at the end.

Mushrooms. I used two Fallen Stars.

If I recall correctly, ducks could use Items. Could a Druid duck have consumed a polymorph potion?
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Under the newly clarified rules that Druegar has stated, polymorphed characters (even with Vestments/Shirts) cannot any items that require a standard or free action.

However, given that Grind is a little more improvisational, this is how I would have ruled:

Ducks can drink potions and eat food. They cannot use scrolls.
Other things would depend. Like they wouldn't be able to use a Horn of Blasting.

I would have permitted a Druid/Wizard duck to consume a polymorph potion.

And one of the little easter eggs is that a Druid/Wizard wearing a Druid's Wild Vestments or Shirt of the Fae could have instantly transformed back from a duck into their natural form (that essentially makes them immune to baneful polymorph)! B)

Out of curiosity, just Druid/Wizard? Or anyone wearing a Shirt of the Fae?

I was told ducks could use items, so I switched from my spells to scrolls and wands. There will have to be clearer info next time on what ducks can do.

Sorry!
