TOPIC: XP for TDC?

I have looked over the forums and website but do not see if we earn xp for doing runs. We are levels 4-6 on the site and will be 5th level cards.

I think you get XP if your under 5th level but I'm not sure.

XP: This will be done like it was at Gamehole Con. Anyone under 5th level can gain XP.

Adam, you probably realize this, but the XP is for player level and not character level. Whether you are playing 4th Level or 5th Level Characters is not affected by XP, and doesn't impact whether you can gain XP at TDC.

I still do not understand the logic behind not getting XP if your 5th or higher. Everyone should get XP regardless of level. if you are spending the money and making the time for the trip to any of the Cons to play TD you should get XP regardless. How does that make things unbalanced? It makes zero sense and the whole explanation of getting more noobs to play rang a little hollow to me. I'm just not sure how it dis-incentivizes anyone. I would love to hear other thoughts.

BTW - If I sound a little salty on the topic of XP I am because I am missing my 2008 & 2009 XP even though I was registered. I gave up on that but going forward any Con you go to you should get real credit for. Just say'n and still looking forward to playing.

This topic was thoroughly discussed in previous threads regarding XP at GHC and WYC. This was chosen as an acceptable compromise by TPTB.

It all boils down to the long time players not wanting to get passed up in XP because they can't always make the smaller cons. There's really no other reason not to give out XP for someone who's paying and doing a run. But as was stated, TPTB have already made a ruling on this one. If you are missing XP from 2008 and 2009 you might want to send an email to TD and explain what happened. Maybe they can make an adjustment to your account.

They can because all my XP got erased and I mean all the way from the beginning and Jeff fixed mine.

Previously, for GHC, you weren't supposed to get XP if you were too high of a level, but the system wouldn't even let you input it (and give you 0 XP).

Did they end up fixing that?

I would like my Account to reflect my GHC participation, even if it is just 0 XP.

I was disappointed by that as well. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to reflect participation.
