So, overall I really liked the new sliders.

I wonder how the backs of tokens will fare in these new sliders, getting in and out of them every time? I suspect it will still be better than one solid fall on the floor, but was just curious.

As someone who often has their tokens fall out of the older sliders, I would recommend these over those.

Thanks for making the slider pucks usable at TDC. Overall, I felt they were solid, just the magnet inside perhaps was a bit too strong, maybe a decrease in the pull force by 25 - 40 percent would be better.

My other comment above ties in with this that when i held the pucks for monk in a stack, they were harder to slide consecutively as the first puck was being pulled back by the magnetic force of the second puck still in hand. I understand that not all monks slide stacking both pucks in one hand, but just my two cents.

As I am nearing making my first legendary weapon, I want those magnets as strong as possible. I will feel much more secure about throwing $1500 worth of plastic down the table.

When I first tried them last year during Grind, I would have said they were too strong. The first time I had to change weapons I had a near panic moment. Once I had some experience using them, it was just fine.

We just need people to practice this in the training room as well.

I played monk in the dungeon for the first time this year and had no difficulty sliding them. But I don't do it the way you are describing.

I think a number of folks saw me fail at attempting to boomerang a slide in the Saturday True Horde. Iattempted to use the ramped sides to get the the puck come back at a certain angle. Instead it just flew through the air landing a good 10 to 15 feet behind Jeff. Token stayed in the puck.

Kakitahan, thanks for the feedback. To give a little more perspective on how the strength was determined. Magnets were inserted and then a token. The slider was then dropped from a 5' height to see if the token would stay attached. Then the token was slid off a standard conference table to again test adherence. If I didn't get at least 80% retention on 20 attempts then I increased the magnet. Ultimately that was the weakest magnet I could use provide the "safest" retention rate. We even softened up the edges slightly to absorb some of the impact when the slider fell.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can go any weaker and meet the one of the key attribute of the slider (token retention). I am sorry this impacts stacking of the sliders.

Overall these felt great in hand, really like the textured/slight grooved outer ring for control with the thumb.

Personal observation, aside from the Jeffagorgon most boards felt slower in general with the new pucks. Question is that due to the boards themselves or what i'm presuming is new felt on the sliders needing time to 'break in'?

I think the slowness of the boards in the dungeon was due to the moisture on them. It was damp down there!

As far as the Magnetic Sliders, I love 'em. They work great for sliding. The grips on the sides are a nice touch and I feel much more confident about putting a high-priced token in them.

I have to agree. I think it was moisture.

Once you learn the trick of pushing down on one side, getting tokens out is a breeze.

I, like jedi, had several go off the table against the jeffagorgon, and never had a token fly out.

Ed mentioned that since the felt was brand new (compared to the well used felt on the older sliders) it made them a bit slower. But the moisture was a big deal too for many of the rooms.

I really love the new sliders though.

I also noticed that the sliders seemed slow in the dungeon. However, during True Horde they slid better.

One of the things that changed for me with the new sliders was the way I visually identified them on the board. During two of my runs most of us were sliding orange Tokens. With the old sliders I would have been focused on the wording on the outer ring to help me identify which one was mine as the board was cleared. With the new sliders even though the wording was there, i found myself focusing more on the color of the puck to help me quickly identify which one was mine. After my second run I really got the hang of visually identifying my Token via puck color.

As for the magnet strength, did you guys see all those grates on the floor in the dungeon? With the old sliders I would have been cringing with every slide..

I never felt more comfortable putting my expensive token in a slider over the weekend with the exception of True Grind at Gen Con last year. I did notice the grates in the floor Rob but I had no worries. I hope these sliders will be the new norm.

Yeah... I was still worried about dropping my tokens in between rooms.
