TOPIC: How to form a group for 2017 TD Run

How to form a group for 2017 TD Run 7 years 8 months ago #1

I've been doing TD for several years now and its been hit or miss for me. The misses are usually because:

1. A hardcore TD person comes in and is "annoyingly anxious" as I like to call it. This person will be a little pushy in who should be doing what. They hand out really good tokens, making each person in the party way to good for the level it is run on (usually normal). They try to orchestrate the entire run, bossing around everyone during puzzles.

2. Same as above, except they've already gone through the dungeon and know how to solve all the puzzles. Even when I ask them to not spoil it, they always do because they want the treasure. When the group wants a clue, they make the rogue get the treasure anyway.

How do I find a group of people who casually play TD and just enjoy the experience, aren't in to having tons of tokens, and like the challenge?

My only thought was to post here or on GenCon forums and get a group together for next year (and maybe wait to recruit next Spring).

Thanks!

You've got the right idea - try to find a group of people who want a similar experience, and buy out a run.

There was a change this year to address some of the issues you raise, now everyone is guaranteed 3 treasures, so there should be no incentive for people to ruin puzzles because of treasure (people may, of course, behave badly for other reasons).
