TOPIC: How to up my game

Last year was my first True Dungeon experience. My friend and I lucked into a group that had done True Dungeon for several years together, so it was a pretty smooth and successful run. This year we we were the experienced players in our group. While we still had a lot of fun, we were less successful in our dungeon run.

So, as I'm still a relative newbie when it comes to True Dungeon, I'm hoping for some guidance as to how I can "up my game" in future True Dungeon runs, and hopefully move up to doing the harder difficulty levels.

The two most obvious things I can think of are:
* Getting into a run with more experienced players
* Acquire many many many more loot tokens to better gear out my character

Is there anything else that someone can suggest regarding what I can do to improve for next year?

Secondary Question: In the token forums I saw some people talking about percentages of token types that they got over the course of 100+ token draws. My question is...are people running TD that much? Granted I've been running on normal (3 tokens/run), so it's not exactly 30+ runs, I get that. I know you get more tokens on Nightmare, but I'm not sure how many. Even if it's double (6 tokens/run), that's at least 17 runs to break 100 tokens gained. Do people actually manage to do that many TD runs? Or is there some other mechanic going on that allows for more token draws that I'm unaware of?

Regarding token draws; there are items that allow people to draw extras.

I'm quite new to the game myself, but I've seen some pretty significant bonuses to draws based on having the right gear (which, unsurprisingly, is also highly valued and thus expensive).

I'm sure a veteran can explain the exact ins and outs better, but yeah, someone drawing 100+ tokens probably isn't doing 30 runs.

Though given the sums tossed around when it comes time to purchase tokens, I'm guessing the raw cost of doing it wouldn't be the sticking point. Ticket availability and raw hours in the day are probably bigger factors at that point.

For your secondary question: there are many tokens that up a player's treasure draws.

For example, a party of 6th level players (not characters) all wearing Charms of AVarice will each get 17 draws.

To answer most of your questions a single person is probably not drawing 100+ treasure at gencon those posts are people who have groups of ten that typically pull all their tokens together so one person will hold and organize everything for everyone and so with ten of the charm of avarice one of these groups is getting 170 treasure in one run but that's the extreme example.

I personally had a bit over 100 as a 4th year player but that combined everything from mine and my 4 friends runs and treasure I earned at whosyercon back at April.

You can't earn more treasure from the higher difficulties but the cheapest options currently are the amulet of treasure finding ultra rare which adds 4 treasure and can still be purchased from the store with the $250 pack I believe. There is also a rare lens item that adds one treasure and only costs a few dollars but it doesn't stack with anything else.
