Alright, I sprung for the high roller. If the free games are garbage, oh well.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

In years past, I have purchased the $25 annnual membership. The free swag, t-shirt and facility access seemed worth the money. I'll probably stay at the $25 level. Also, I enjoy donating the swag to charities in my community! However, if details about the highrollers benefits become available, let me know. If there is good value, I could drop $100. :cheer:

Two things:

1. The "High Roller" option last yer sold out well before the Con started, so I wouldn't count on being able to upgrade to that onsite and

2. I would also NOT expect bucketfulls of games as swag; it's very year to year dependent on what they can get, and I think last year they got really lucky with the amount of swag they could offer.

Last year I paid the $25 and got the t-shirt, a roll of TD tokens, Munchkin Love Letter, and Schlock Mercenary Capitol Offensive.

I plan on paying the $25 again this year.

Anyone looking to split a room for WYC? I've got a double TH through M.

I am friends with several people who are founders of WYC, on the WYC staff, or have been on the staff at some point.

I got the High Roller membership last year and again this year. The reception is nice and the swag was over the top last year. This year there will be less in the way of swag for the high rollers as they really over did it last year. For me this is not a problem.

WYC is a convention you can attend for free. No badge cost at all. Most of the games are free also. The reason I get a High Roller badge is to support the convention and what they are trying to do. I don't do it for the swag.

Membership allows you to vote on officers for WYC so that is one reason to get a membership. The other big reason is that it is the only way the con will survive. It has been a VERY difficult road to travel not having mandatory fees but so far it has worked out well. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and having a good time. The only way that keeps happening is through your generosity.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.
