Maybe we can have a well-lit photo area now, with props and everything!

Is there enough room there to expand the Dungeon to 8 or 9 rooms, or maybe have an alternate path or two? :)

With the need for volunteers, I don't expect to see an expansion to 8 or 9 rooms. But perhaps alternate rooms could be possible, since you could have one DM for both room 4A and room 4B - s/he could just go with the party when they make their choice.

That could open up some cool choice consequences to the story. To take an example from this year, if you tipped the drow in the elevator then you'd land on the correct floor, if you didn't she sets it so you crash on a different floor, etc
~Meta: Don't worry, it is perfectly "safe" to follow the drunken dwarf into the dungeon!

Improved Coaching? How so?

How much of Lucas Oil Stadium do we get? Size wise compared to Hall A from last year.

With the added space (Assuming there is more), will this allow more runs for people making more tickets available?

Only 4 different runs. It is on the event page.

What is the new square footage, I cant figure it out from the diagram.

Never mind, I found it. Still 44,000 like Hall A. Sigh, I was hoping for a bigger room.

(Unless we are getting some of the meetings also, which I doubt)

Of course we could put the tavern in that little 134,000 sf room next door.

I like to think of it as a return to 8 rooms instead of an expansion. :)

Time to reconsider hotel choices. Overall I think this could be a good move. Allows the convention to hopefully shift some stuff around and maybe just maybe take some stress off the dealerhall space crunch.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Do the train tracks go over head or something? It looks like the Crowne Plaza is only two stories tall - how many rooms can they possibly have?

On the plus side, I think I've identified a source for questionable substances in the tunnel - see photo below. Right side, next to stairs (do those stairs go into the Crowne Plaza?)

Crown Plaza use to be a working train station, renovated into a rather nice hotel. There are train lines near by though that are still in use.

One of the neat features of Crown plaza is they kept a lot of the old sleeper cars from when it was a station and fixed them up too. Allowing guest to rent and stay in those as your room.

We stayed there a few years ago. It's a very nice hotel.

By taking advantage of the large light/sound barrier, the dungeon can be dark, and the coaching area can be much lighter, and quieter. This makes it much easier for both players and coaches to sort their tokens, and for people to ask/answer questions during coaching.

I've put in many coaching shifts, and regularly find my throat giving out at the end of the shift, from having to raise my voice over the dungeon-noise spilling over from next door. Lighting has been better in Coaching for the last couple years, so that's not as much of a concern for me these days, but I know some people who still have trouble sorting their tokens in the lower light levels.

Cheaper parking, internet included, across the street from the dealer hall? Why wasn't I here years ago?

Better lighting in my training room? No way man, how am I gonna function without that one bright spotlight shining right in my eyes the whole time?

Better sound insulation from the dungeon? But I always get a speaker in my room that should have been aimed at room 1.

Now if I can just get my sound cues back....

Lighting has been better. But the open end of the "horseshoe" near the door is still problematic.

Normally this would piss me off. Having to walk the extra distance from the convention center would have made me an unhappy panda. Seeing as next year I'll be at an AirBnB and cabbing it in, it probably won't be as obnoxious, though still not great for event scheduling purposes. If the space isn't really any bigger then this feels like a major downgrade and it's going to hit the waitlist and walk-ins to a huge degree.

Binia,

You never have to leave the ICC to get to the new spot. You just walk south until you hit stairs which take you under the street to get to TD.

Is the space the same size or is it bigger?
