It was a bonus for donating 1k to worldbuilders so very few were released during a very limited window.

Officially, there are only between 35 to 50 in existence based on what was posted by Worldbuilders. I believe 35 were available as part of a $1K donation. Depending on how you interpret the other info they posted, it sounds like between 5 and 15 more were available as prizes in drawings. Some of those might just be thrown away if the winner participated for signed books, etc and had no idea what TD was. I have images of someone thinking, "are pogs a thing again?" and either tossing it to one of their kids or throwing it away.

I'm surprised it sold so low. I honestly expected it to go for $1100+

Given it's rarity I expect the value to steadily rise

If it goes over $1100 I'd seriously consider selling mine. I didn't expect that it would be so rare.

For now it's nice to have something special in my build.

. For how it was listed you would had to donate to the TD team to have a chance to win one in the raffle. So though someone could have donated to the TD team with without knowing what TD is, it is unlikely. That said I know not everyone received theirs from donating 1k and winning one of the raffles. Whether that is WB or postal fault is unknown. There were 14 as prizes. That makes a total of 49. Likely Patrick got number 50, but that is just a guess.

I didn't think about Rothfuss getting one but that makes perfect sense. Worldbuilders had many thousands of supporters, I wonder how many of those 14 ended up in hands of people who had no idea what it was. I know I won some prizes that didn't mean much to me but might have had meaning for people who play those games.

I think you are not understanding what I am saying. There was a general raffle of items to everyone that donated to any team. TD raffle was limited to only donated to the TD team....at least that is how it was worded and any other P2P donation/raffle with team specifics works. So someone donating to another team doesn't win something the TD team if offering.
